Hello Lovely Signs of Hope, Quotes to Cope and Spring!
Spring is Different This Year
Last year at this time it was cherry blossoms, Easter baskets, spring break vacation getaways, and egg casseroles blowing up the internet and in American consciousness.
This year it is handwashing, quarantine, death tolls, ventilator production, economic devastation, and …

TOILET PAPER.
Day to day living is more uncertain now.
Yet so much remains the same.

We care about our neighbors and depend on each other to flourish.
One of the trickiest parts of navigating this chapter for me personally is trying to find grounding. How much of the bad news around the globe is healthy for me to let in and allow my heart to sense and grieve about? And how much should I carry on with my life as usual, with optimism and humor?
Surely these unprecedented times demand maturity to hold the paradox of this extraordinary season.
Today I hope to make it a tad easier for you to feel buoyant hope! Start with this amazing response to the virus:
Apparently We Can Live Without the Gym
People are wildly creative when it comes to getting the exercise they need in the small space which is theirs! Hahahaha.

A Must Listen to The Entire Singalong
What a gift it is to be able to lift our hands in praise and maybe return to the music and Gospel promises of childhood to recover faith and assurance.
You’re about to be blessed…let your heart open to this soul fest, and do watch it all the way through!
Free Programs for Children on Amazon
My heart goes out to parents all over the world who are living a new normal with kids home from school. I cannot even imagine juggling work, chores, worries, and now education at home. And to teachers who are committed to their students’ learning – thank you for stretching in profound ways as you creatively pivot and instruct virtually.
Here’s a wonderful freebie from Amazon! For as long as school is out, watch for free, children can watch more than 40 new children’s shows, regardless of Prime membership. Audiobook platform Audible has also released a number of free audiobooks for users to stream from their devices.

JOANN Offers Free Fabric to Sew Masks
Isn’t it heartwarming to see sewers and even non-sewers across the country get busy creating since there is such a shortage of protective masks for healthcare workers and beyond?

Do you sew at home? JOANN Stores now offers free curbside pickup or delivery for supplies to make them!

Think Green
While economic woes are surely on everyone’s mind, there’s another green I have in mind. The vibrant spring green background for the quotes today mirrors the approaching greening from April showers.

I am always eager to greet spring with an open heart proclaiming, HELLO, LOVELY!

Imagine the Greenery Possibilities in These Pots!

Birdsong in the Air
Have you heard birdsong yet? It is one of the signs spring is on the way.
I hope a sweetly lilting birdsong finds you and lifts your spirit up uhere it belongs. It’s not a small thing when HEAVEN AND NATURE SING TO YOU.

Plug Into Friendship & Laughter
While many of us have a love/hate relationship with social media, you can’t help but appreciate its existence in times of social distancing. We can share a funny thought (see above) with friends on FB or IG to make them smile, and then they can share it and keep the smiles going. (THANKS FOR PINNING FROM THIS SITE whenever possible since it keeps me bringing daily doses of lovely.)

Spring Cleaning of the Nest
An itch to clean and organize or re-organize around the nest seems to intensify for all of us in spring, but THIS spring with sheltering in place??? Oh, my!
Find some closet makeover ideas in this post, and if love the scent of lemon, here is what I have been cleaning with:
Spring Organization: Kitchen
I found some awesome items for sprucing up our pantries and kitchens!

Spring Organization: Bedroom & Bath

Here is the closet organizer I have used in several closets here at home. There are all sorts of way to customize it, but even the bare bones basic is a great on its own.

I honor how Pema Chodron paints a portrait of wakefulness with her words. Dying to self in order to live with more fullness is a paradox to contemplate within the cozy nest of my soul.
Spring Fresh Air
Whether it’s sports, gardening, or long walks in nature, spring draws us outdoors. Is there any scent on earth like the air after spring rainfall? Springtime for me means more exercise and more free flowing endorphins!

To see the rebirth and budding all around in the season of spring is to feel shifts within. Some of them can be profound.

Courageous Inspiration
You are likely acquainted with the hand-lettering art of Lisa Congdon whether or not you know her name. Her beautiful book Fortune Favors the Brave is a celebration of wise words, colors, and magic.
If you find yourself longing for more courage, here is a prescription (offering side effects of joy and peace). It also makes a perfect gift for someone in your life who may be struggling.

Cultivate Wisdom
Like so many plants and hibernating creatures of winter, sometimes we fall asleep to our blessings and even our own lives. Pandemic has a way of waking us up (and even turning our world upside down). I hope we are able to grow in important ways and bloom as new wiser creatures.

Brené Brown is a masterful teacher of wholeheartedness, and she often discusses courage over comfort. So many valuable reminders that doing the right thing is often not gonna feel good. There’s going to be fallout. Here’s the thing…the journey taken with integrity is likely to be a bumpy ride.
But let’s not let that stop us.
If we all pin this cheat sheet below, who knows what ripples we can create!

Empathy & Blame
This is a great teaching and worth viewing!
Spring Staycations
For a lot of Americans, it’s strange to not be traveling for spring vacations. I have cancelled several trips (boo – it was going to be my first time at Round Top’s Antique Show!), and I can’t even imagine the folks who scheduled destination weddings, honeymoons, or moves.
Perhaps we will develop a new gratitude for the freedom to travel as well as a freshened appreciation for the gems right under our nose locally.
Pick Me Ups to Wear in Spring
One of my favorite scents to wear, Cleopatra’s rich amber patchouli blends royally with vanilla musk and hints of tuberose and grapefruit.
If a sweet bouquet of sugarcane, vanilla bean and jasmine are more your spicy style, take Lollia’s WISH for a spin.
Imagine citrusy bergamot, island mimosa, and almond with notes of sandalwood and jasmine petals…imagine the fresh scent of MIMOSA!

What New Growth Awaits In Spring?
Allow yourself to sink for a moment into the lavish hopefulness of the season…new creation is coming to bless and lift you right where you are.

Thank you for a beautifully written, uplifting post! Instead of going right to the news in my inbox, this morning I put on some classical music, and while savoring my first cup of coffee, I read your blog. It fed my soul, and reduced my anxiety. Thank you, and know that you are making a difference.

Michele,
I have to agree that I stay home most days, but now that I have to be home, I want to go somewhere. I know that we will get through this. I loved the Carol Burnett skit. She is so funny.Love all of the humor.
Stay safe and healthy.
Hugs,

I know what you mean, Bev. The restriction of freedom does something to us psychologically and causes an unease. You are not alone in feeling like that! Thanks so much for reading and laughing. Wishing you well-th today and always. xox
