It’s such a relief to my eyes to see these rosy pinks and cheerful blues.

After all, I feel as though I have been posting muddy colors and moody decor inspiration since August (because that is what is trending for my audiences on Pinterest and FB).

While there’s a place for all that moodiness, at some point, don’t we all feel the itch to lighten up?

I’m ready for fresh flowers on the tabletops and pretty dishes to come out of storage…

I want to feel more energized after January’s hibernation, but I’m not ready to train for a marathon, ya know?

While there isn’t much color in the above decor moment, I am loving the sunny stone and can almost feel a cool breeze.

Because I live in a place where April has a tendency to pretend it is February…

Maybe that is why I sense comfort from gentler colors of spring as we emerge from winter rather than any sort of sudden electric rainbow of new growth.

Just now I am missing the rosy upholstered accent chair we had for years in our living room and wondering why I ever parted with it!

While the neutral kitchen above lacks springtime color beyond green, I am drawn to those honey-toned woven Malibu counter stools at the island. I’m going to visit a Pottery Barn store and test them for comfort. Something about them just feels so island-like and tropical.
