When there’s no fireplace at all…
I thought we’d roast marshmallows outdoors tonight to break in a new little wood-burning firepit I placed in the courtyard. However, since it is snowing (!!!), maybe tomorrow!

My favourite is the shabby chic & rustic by Beach Studios. The chandelier and old chippy mirror grabbed my attention. But, what really got my attention was the cast iron grape vine log set. It set my heart a pitter patter. I love a touch of whimsy in every room. It shows one doesn’t take themselves too seriously.
I find Christmas has become too commercialized. I don’t allow myself to fall into that trap. Oh yes, I do like to drive around and take in the lights, wander our Main Street all decorated for the season with music playing, and the happiness that surrounds us. It’s the excessive buying, the stressful looks on some faces and even rudeness as they scurry around on the hunt. If only we could get back to the true meaning of Christmas.

It really resonates with me as well. And the driftwood! Yes! I am smitten with the way this company is redefining how to enjoy fire! Here’s hoping you glimpse beauty right where you are flowing from the truth at the heart of the Christmas story. xox
So many lovely fireplaces to oooh and ahhhhh over! But my favorite part of this post is what you wrote here:
“Unto us a child is born. Love walked the earth.
A light came into the world so pure that it flickers in hearts thousands of years later.”
Amen!

Thanks for reading and your heart. xox
Great post Michele! I go from loving traditional fireplaces with a golden French framed mirror above the mantel to a minimalist fireplace with no mantle at all! My favorite thing about this post is the last paragraph. Thank you for reminding us of what the season is all about❤️

Your fireplace is lovely with the topiaries! Just curious…are they real or faux?
Author
Thanks – not real but the topiaries on our dresser are preserved boxwood – those are always my favorite no maintenance but real! 🙂
