The Flower Theory (155 Railroad, Downtown Danville, CA) continues to inspire thanks to florist owner Kathy’s creations, humor, and spirit. Artistry with florals is a talent I fondly admire (zero talent for it myself!), and here is a floral artisan and mood elevator who seems to be more of a magician when it comes to a show-stopping arrangement. Here’s hoping you’ll sense positive, healing, sweater weather vibes in Autumn Quotes Fall Floral Inspiration & Hope Rising.

In the 2020s (are we calling them that? and can I continue to refer to the pandemic as LE PAUSE?), the sight of flowers blooming in any season on any medium (even IG) fills my heart with hope.

Fall Window Box

Isn’t there a quiet, understated loveliness in the fall window box above!?!

With so many changes in the global marketplace and retail, I’m still cheering on charming flower shops and small businesses who work so hard to feed our souls beauty.
Lady Bird Nailed It: Where Flowers Bloom, So Does Hope

The Flower Theory offers: pop-up markets, farm-inspired style, workshops, passion for the creative life, and a playfully eclectic artful eye. Many offerings are in-house creations from reclaimed wood, vintage accents, and architectural finds.

A Day in the Life of a Floral Artist

What is a day in the life of a hard-working flower shop like anyway?
Owner, Kathy writes,
“Well… one could say it’s helping you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, say thank you, say you are sorry, mourn a loss, prepare for photo shoots, console a sick friend, 30 centerpieces to help raise money for a cause, mess up a diet, swat away yellow jackets while driving while picking up flowers from a local non-profit farm. It’s delivering with a smile.”

In Search of Quality Quotes About Flowers
Kathy’s creations inspired me to seek quotes about flowers and fall, and guess what?

While there seem to be a few stirring flower-iffic quotes like the one from Lady Bird Johnson, there are oodles of truly flat attempts! True!

I was stunned to discover a web and Pinterest flowering with uninspiring sentiment about arguably, the earth’s loveliest smiles. (Maybe it’s time to visit the local library, where perhaps all the purest poetry of flowers remains tucked away safely.)

To be fair, how is any writer expected to capture the vast beauty of flowers with language?

Language can hardly compete with flowers, pumpkin.
Pumpkins by The Flower Theory
Just look at the goodness beyond fresh flowers blooming in Kathy’s world!

BTW, how do you like your pumpkin spice? I like mine in bread more than latte:

A Reminder
Flowers have been compared to flightless butterflies (and butterflies to flying flowers), and through the ages, they endure as symbols of affection, comfort, and romance.

Just now, I remain grateful for the elegant symbol of hope flowers offer us. They remind that an ending is often the middle of the story since renewal, rebirth and restoration are on the way.

I’m such a summer girl, and the thought of a collapse and grey days is somehow less harsh when fall comes blooming with its colors and scents.

With hope, life becomes more vibrantly wild. More wondrously ripe with possibility and potential.

With hope, we can see the beauty of raindrops, we can weather the winds of change.
The Seed and The Flower

What I was saying earlier about the inadequate supply of floral-themed quotes? Oh, dear John Harrigan…I take it back!
HAPPINESS SHARED IS THE FLOWER!

Oh, nature, help this foolish forgetful soul see she is not living in you but IS you.

Help her see this messy wilderness as a necessary natural season.

Teach her greater humility and a slower pace – expand her capacity for the wisdom and patience you model so beautifully.

Healing Hope
I know people who say they are done with hope. Done with peace until justice is restored. Still I cannot deny the power of hope flowering in this tender soul.

Dear hope, you truly are delicately unfamiliar with disappointment; a life-giving antidote to weary minds full of paradoxes too heavy to hold.
Come quickly, hope.

Spread like a contagion.

Flowers + Blooming = Hope
Come bloom with flowers, hope – you truly are best friends.

Thanks so much for reading, Bettye. I don’t want these shops to disappear! 🙂
Watching the young lady plant up her containers has me itching to change up my summer pots to fall. I think a trip to my local nursery is now on the agenda for this afternoon. I did cut some rose hips for inside this morning. A few branches in a white pitcher or pottery jug adds just the right amount of fall to my kitchen,

Ha! I need that mat too. I think I love bringing branches inside even more than fresh flowers. 🙂
Thanks so much for today’s post! I really enjoyed every part of it, but especially my daughter, granddaughter and I will benefit most from the video about making fall arrangements in pots. We’re all excited about doing this.

You’re so welcome. I just love everything Kathy creates – there’s always magic in there like your paintings. 🙂
“The earth laughs in flowers.” I love that! Wildflowers are my favorite…so thankful to live out where they are so plentiful. I love noticing the order different ones appear throughout the year on regular walks I take with my husband. Wild white daisies are my very fav and are some of the first to appear when spring hits. Right now I’m loving these tiny purple looking daisies with gold centers…I picked some just yesterday! The perfect flower for LSU fans! I agree with Anne…”I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” Every year I want to make one of those driftwood Christmas tree wall hangings…maybe this will be the year! Praying you & your son are able to enjoy your October with the encouragement of improving health.

Your walks through wildflowers sound so wonderful, Amy. I too want to make one of those driftwood trees because I think it is a timeless look. My son just moved into his new condo so he is getting there with our help. That reno will be on the blog soon. I’m doing so much better and gaining some weight finally. Thanks so much for enjoying today’s post, and I hope you and yours are feeling well. 🙂
