Get the Look! Sarah Richardson {Green Bedroom}

Over the past few weeks, we have been exploring decor ideas from Sarah Richardson’s latest project: an off-the-grid house in Ontario packed with decorating ideas and affordable home decor. Today, I’m thrilled to share more sources…this time for her daughter Fiona’s beautiful mint green bedroom and bath.

I admire how Sarah puts a fresh spin on traditional, classic interior design, and in her daughter Robin’s room, she combines cheery mint green, turquoise and cottage style to achieve a decidedly happy chic result.

I love how she used wide planks of wainscot paneling so the room has a nice balance of crisp white and then this architectural interest continues in the bath, where subway tile becomes the wainscot. Sarah manages to create functional areas for her daughter to do homework and maybe later apply makeup, and the placement of the writing desk between the closets gives this nook a cozy, room within a room charm. The lines of the mint green lamp are feminine and elegant, and the mirror above the desk is one of my favorite finds…do you agree? The chaise with its whimsical upholstery adds personality that isn’t too young and will grow with Sarah’s daughter. While the room feels spring-like, I can imagine how uplifting the beachy greens and blues will become in winter when overcast Ontario skies arrive.

I don’t often spotlight kids rooms on Hello Lovely…frankly, I don’t often discover examples that resonate, but here’s a room with a mix of classic cottage style with timeless appeal for a growing girl. The bedroom and bath Sarah has designed for her daughter Fiona is a beautiful example of function + comfort +style that we can steal decorating ideas from.
