Sarah Richardson’s new off-the-grid house in Ontario has so many pretty details, and as promised, I’m sharing sources and an updated resource guide in Get the Look! Sarah Richardson {Media Room} for her beautifully rustic chic media room with its blue and white decor…in case you care to get a similar look. I love how Sarah uses blue with neutrals…while there are bold pops of blue, it always feel cheery and fresh.
How about the way this space was sectioned off with rustic natural beams and wood without compartmentalizing it? Genius and it remains open concept even with designated spaces for different functions. I don’t often spotlight media rooms on Hello Lovely because let’s be honest, they typically have the same look with dark moody walls and comfortable furniture.
There isn’t typically a lot of imagination or thought beyond technical media matters. We normally don’t see natural light or get a sense that the space relates to the rest of the house. And that’s okay since it has unique function for watching movies and lounging. But I love what Sarah has done with this one to increase its usability. It feels like it could be a home of its own! (See more of Sarah Richardson’s off the grid home beginning here.)
Curious about the paint color? It’s Dulux “Natural White.”
Let’s explore Sarah’s media room today, and in some cases, you’ll find links to exact items, and for others, there are suggestions for similar home decor. At the end of the post, you’ll find a resource guide for almost everything you see here! (Affiliate links follow: you won’t pay extra if you use them, yet I’ll earn a few extra pennies).

What a beautiful feature, love the movement in her designs. The striped chairs make me want to add some blue brushed velvet to my home. Michele, I have to mention my family always growing up had a grand pool table that my mom would often in design change have the felt lining change to match her home designs. The thing is they always take up room and become had on the eyes to look at…
but take a look at this farmhouse style pool table? This gives new meaning to Farmhouse style in game and entertainment rooms. It’s almost like a wonderful furniture addition to its space.
Beautiful post, and the glimpse of the kitchen, the rough old barnwood beams, wow it all.

Hi Dore! Thanks for adding to the beauty here. I admire the striped chairs as well and think they are beautiful and durable, and it would be so expected to see leather club chairs rather than soft luxurious velvet. xox
Hi Michele,
I really love the Fairchild sofa! Soooo perfect! You’re a pro — all the accessories are awesome too!

I do too! And a great price right now. Thanks for reading, friend. 🙂
I’m having such a girl crush on Sarah right now….lol And, kudos to you for all the great sources!

Hahaha. I’m crushing too. Especially on her sensibilities — that I was able to use the same cabinet maker she did and that she uses sofas we can actually afford…she is after the “every woman” methinks. 🙂
Love this space, can you please provide the paint color used in this room.
Thank you.
