One of my all time favorite episodes of HGTV’s Fixer Upper is the renovation of a French inspired Texas home. The homeowners (Matt and Leigh Ellen) love Old World style elegance, and with Joanna Gaines steering the design mixing in farmhouse, the result is a lovely livable mix. French Farmhouse Foyer: Get the Look deconstructs the details and offers decor ideas. Seen this Club House episode (Season 5, Episode 11) yet?

The Inspiring Entryway!
It’s a serene, neutral, calm entry with beautiful panel mould (find panel moulding ideas here) and a dramatic statement with encaustic tiles and wood on the floor. White vases, a candle and vintage books as well as framed vintage book pages are the simple accessories.

What’s the Warm White Paint Color in The Club House Foyer on Fixer Upper?
The paint color chosen for this renovated entry way in The Club House on Fixer Upper is likely in the family of one of Joanna Gaines’ tried and true warm beige-y whites.
She consistently uses Sherwin-Williams Alabaster in a great many projects, and I have noticed this is a go-to color for many designers.
Did you see the French country house tour of a newly built home in Texas? Here is Sherwin-Williams Alabaster on the walls in that entry below:
Is It a Color from Magnolia Home?
Since this Fixer Upper episode is from season 5, it is quite likely Magnolia Home paints (here) were used for the project. Could the wall color be MAGNOLIA HOME Blanched shown in the mock up rendering below from Magnolia?
Or could the color in The Club House be MAGNOLIA HOME Soft Linen?
Since I can’t decide, I looked closer at photos and expanded a section of the wall to arrive at this swatch for you. Here’s the thing: shadows. Time of day the space was photographed. Photography lighting. Who can say how photos are edited, warmed, or brightened?
So here’s the custom swatch I created for you:
A Best Guess for Getting the Look of This French Country Foyer!
The wall paint color appeared to be closer to Soft Linen than Blanched when I scrutinized. What warm white paint color strikes a lovely balance between “blanched” and “soft linen?”
Would you believe (because I care so much about you and your quest for beautiful neutral paint colors!) I arrived on this hue: BEHR Crisp Linen? It is beautiful and looks just like it sounds! (It was formerly BEHR Bleached Linen.)
Here’s a great primer with ideas for warm whites.
Lantern Chandelier for French Foyer in The Club House on Fixer Upper
If you’re after a classic, timeless, and rustic modern pendant light, here’s a great contender. An interior designer favorite lantern is this one I adore from Pottery Barn. Find more high quality, gorgeous lantern pendants in the same spirit HERE as well.
Flooring Ideas for Entryway in The Club House on Fixer Upper
Joanna chose white oak hardwood flooring for this beautiful French country home, consistent with a French look. The wood appears to be left natural (which is also what we did with our own reno). There are beautiful options to get this look.
In our house, the hardwoods were finished on site; however, you can avoid dust, toxic fumes and also headaches with prefinished products. Engineered white oak flooring is also a possibility, and I discuss engineered vs. solid hardwood here.
In the entryway, Joanna chose to do a tile inlay within the white oak with encaustic cement tiles. To get the look, you could opt for encaustic HERE or porcelain tile that resembles cement such as:
Just look at how beautiful this tile is in blue:
White Console Table in Entryway of The Club House on Fixer Upper
The pretty white console chosen for the entryway is slender and perfect for setting down mail or keys.
There are so many pretty options, and I chose the one below since it also sports drawers (just think how handy those would be!) and a shelf in case you like the look of decorative vintage books a la Joanna Gaines’ design.
If your entry is on the teeny side, this 35″ good looking console is priced right!
In case you can accomodate a 52″ entry table, this Kelly Clarkson option has an aged look:
Accessories in French Farmhouse Foyer: The Club House on Fixer Upper
The first accessory idea to get the look of the art in the entryway is: simply layer a vintage, aged, yellowed book page on white in a simple black frame.
THIS square black frame may do the trick. The beauty of this frame is how it is a floating style. You could always let the wall color behind the glass become the “mat” for the vintage page.
Maybe frame a page from each family member’s favorite book?
Love the scent of cardamom? Omg, takes me back to childhood and my favorite babysitter, my Swedish Gram!
Vintage Books are easy to score at the flea market and on eBay as well as antique malls. These sweet stamped books may be the right simple touch on a white console shelf.
Real branches are best, but everlasting ones are practical and may do the trick to fill your vases.
Idea to Get the Look of the Decorative Scroll Front of the Console Table in Entryway
There’s something so beautiful about the lacy scroll ironwork in our inspiration space: the entryway of The Club House.
You could certainly hunt for an iron architectural fragment and give it a whitewash or opt for something like this below. A piece like this could be layered on a console table, hung on a wall or used as a springboard to create a new piece.
Another Idea for Framed Art
Here’s’ an impressionistic painting of a countryside landscape that may be lovely with other suggestions shared here to bring earthy color to the mix.
I have several framed fine art prints like this that I treasure!
Front Door Vintage Brass Hardware
The arched front doors painted black play a starring role in the beauty of the entryway at The Club House, and the hardware chosen has a vintage brass finish.
This handleset for entries freshens the look of a traditional crystal door knob and modernizes it:

Thanks for tuning in and always brightening my day with your spirit of graciousness and life giving energy. You are a light on my path, friend. xox
Oh no! I was thinking the softest, lightest of blues would be perfect in my guest room but now the Bleached Linen has me rethinking my decision. I’m afraid that room will never get painted as I flip flop over the perfect colour.
I’m in love with the old, scrolled iron console in the entryway. I’ll have to pin that as inspiration. Finding the perfect iron piece might be difficult, if not impossible, but I love a hunt.
Happy Mother’s Day, Michele!

I’m the same way! I care so much about getting it right that I take forever to pull the trigger – but I see it as being VERY patient. Ha! I want that console too and keep thinking we could build it with the right architectural fragment. Happy Mother’s Day, friend.
Hey there I loved this property! Do u know any info about the framed antique art bleached maps framed?

Such an amazing timeless home – I only know what I shared in the post – but I need to re-watch the episode to know how to research what you’re asking.
