Peaceful Holiday Decor & Wishes
I’ll share more glimpses of Christmas at our house once I catch my breath, but here are a few from last year:
My sister Jo’s girlie Jess is the most precious gift.
Anything gnome-like brings back the Scandinavian influences of my childhood.
When I see her lounging in our window seat, it makes me so happy that I designed this kitchen around it!
My tree is always very humble with handmade felt ornaments along with straw Scandi ones.
I know the fire is underwhelming, but I can’t seem to tolerate burning wood anymore because of asthma…just keepin it real, kitties.
A very sweet indulgence when you live in the heartland!
Christmas Wishes Just for You
May you have eyes to see the small miracles blooming everywhere this Christmas.
I wish you guiding stars to direct your path and ears to hear Divine whispers in the stillness and quiet.
I wish you warmth this winter as you wait for spring’s hope.
May you find rest each moment you surrender your burdens and receive blessed assurance in return.
I wish you greater perseverance as you accept the imperfection reality offers and you allow it to teach.
May you discover sweetness in unexpected little things that aren’t so little after all.
I wish you eyes to see nature’s nobility right under your nose and the wisdom to know you are united with it all.
May you feel the peaceful reassurance of a silent night when angels are near even when friends are not.
I wish you courage for difficult days when personal resources are running low.
Holiday Reflections & Christmas Interiors
May you become the healing light you seek and may you share it freely.
I wish you calming days of simplicity for renewal and restoration.
May you remember the trials you overcame this year and those stretches of earth where grace carried you.
I wish you nights of nourishing sleep to prepare you for what lies ahead.
May you find sacred pockets of time for exploration and clarity.
A brief pause
(While you likely won’t find Pinworthy designer-beautiful interiors within this glimpse of a lovely soul connecting to self and nature, you may glimpse the beauty of unplugged peaceful living.)
I wish you deep self-awareness to notice you are already more than enough.
May you soon meet a new friend who brings blessing and bountiful joy.
I wish you compelling moments of profound gratitude when happy tears flow.
May you harbor childlike curiosity and fall in love with the mystery woven into the tapestry of your life.
I wish you the simple pleasures of home to nurture and support your journey.
May you dare to excavate the depths of meaning beneath every disappointment and loss, and may you uncover the deeper invitation.
Peace to You This Christmas
I wish you amazing grace to heal from the wounds you feared would always remain.
May your heart grow with forgiveness as mercy flows steadily inward and out.
I wish you endurance for those relentless burdens you bear.
May your faith expand so you may trust in what you cannot see.
I wish you shimmering celestial light to illumine any corners of doubt.
May the soundtrack of your 2021 be a symphony of effervescent laughter (for laughter truly is “carbonated holiness” as Anne Lamott says!).
I wish you tenderness, blossoming in the soul and flowering your outlook.
May your spirit swell with a renewed sense of abundance and empowerment – it all begins with letting go.
I wish you a joyful melody to echo in your heart no matter the weather, and heavenly blessings you never saw coming.

Good morning Michele. I hope your Christmas was everything you wanted it to be and more. The brightest part of mine was FaceTiming with my son in a far off place. It was bitter sweet to see his face but have him so far from home, and without family on Christmas Day.
Blessings,
~Joanna

I understand that bittersweetness well, friend. I also facetimed with one of our sons who lives far away. It was a quiet, simple holiday which made things easy on me. This was the first year we were not all together so it felt new and a little awkward, yet I stuck to some traditions and stayed centered in the reason for the celebration. What a gift that even when grief and sadness accompany Christmas, God meets us in it, and we can keep the flame flickering. xox
Beautifully said. Merry Christmas, such a peace filled post. Thank you.

That just warms my heart, Amy. Thank you so much. 🙂
Would you be able to put these wishes in a similar format (@ your convenience) as you did your Christmas Prayer so it can be easily shared?! I’d love to send this to some dear friends as we start a fresh new year/decade as an encouragement. 😊❤️ I sent them your Christmas Prayer & they loved it!!

Hi Amy! I copied and pasted those wishes into a graphic image and inserted it into the post. You can also see it and pin it from here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/568438784218543300/ So happy you asked for this because you know me – I type these things stream of consciousness style and never from word documents or writings on a page – the images serve as inspiration, and the words come tumbling out. This little extra step at the end is so smart as a way to catalog the thoughts. Thank you. xox
Michelle, such a lovely post from such a lovely person. Your writing is incredibly beautiful as it pours out of your soul. My best wishes and blessings to you and your family. Many thanks for the treasures this blog gives to us as we go throughout the year. You are loved and appreciated.
