Counting down the days ’til Halloween? Then Cozy Warm Noël Blanc isn’t likely to tingle your jingles. (Does my Frenglish title sound like a yummy mulled wine or what?) But if the wheels have begun to turn as you daydream about this year’s Christmas tree, well then we’re talkin’. Either way, PIN THIS POST to save for future reference. Since the weather here has been frightful for days, I can already visualize pretty snow-capped trees and candles glowing in the windows. In fact, for me, this chill in the air is a reminder to get holiday shopping out of the way to enjoy the season with peace, not panic. Not that holy days are about crossing off lists and anxiety. They truly reflect a Gospel story that seems too good to be true: the Divine is FOR us and WITH us and never departing.
Cozy Warm Noël Blanc: Holiday Decorations
If there must be bold color pops for Christmas, let them be shiny green apples, citrus, fanciful giftwrap or cheery bright red Ilse Jacobsen boots. But don’t feel obligated to decorate with colors you don’t love or tones that feel foreign in your interiors. This is your permission slip to keep the palette pale!
Holiday Wreath & Garland
Here’s a lit and flocked wreath that feel Scandinavian and simple:
If you love gold Christmas bells and bulbs, you can display them in new ways…here they are in my vintage English crocks with fresh evergreen sprigs:
You can never go wrong with gold bells at Christmas…these would be lovely with any hanging wreath.
Nordic French Christmas Decorating
These Swedish electric candelabra have been a part of my own holiday decor for decades, and they honestly look good anywhere you place them.
In a window sill, on a shelf, nightstand, dresser, or bathroom counter…they provide this wholesome vintage glow.
While I think these candles may be discontinued, there’s a new one to benefit St. Jude’s if you click through.
Whimsical Nutcracker Christmas!
If you have yet to shop Rifle Paper Co., oh my goodness, there is so much whimsy and charm and loveliness in their designs. The nutcracker items tend to sell out quickly.
Did you see the story with my favorite decorated holiday house? Pamela Pierce mentioned in Milieu that she spray painted the ornaments on her Christmas tree white. Sometimes you can find white glass ornaments, but not often!
Fireplace Mantel and Holiday Staircase Ideas
While fresh greenery is a wonderful delight, sometimes everlasting makes sense either because of access, pets, allergies, or just because you’d prefer not to still be vacuuming needles in the spring.
Tabletop Christmas Tree
A beautiful Christmas tree should be nine feet tall? Charlie Brown has an opinion, and this juniper so sweetly petite and flocked begs to differ.
If your tree is not tabletop-sized, you may want this collar which is such an understated element for a crisp, coastal, transitional look.
Gingerbread Houses in Branches
It’s a dreamy, home-y, folksy look that won’t ever fall from favor.
Here’s another idea for a pale and quieter color story. Think camel and soft golds.
We can always use more cow bell, oui? They feel nostalgic, European country inspired, and child-like. They’re even functional! They can go on a ribbon for your sweet kitty, pup or goat.
I’m keeping my eyes peeled for deer that I can spray paint white for a vignette like this:
Cozy White Christmas Houses
What is it about simple white country mini houses that sets us at ease?
Basket for Holiday Cards
Each year we seem to receive less Christmas cards in the mail, but we keep sending them. I even miss the agony of getting the family Christmas photo. As stressful as it inevitably was, the ritual is embedded in memories for a lifetime.
Christmas Tablescape Idea
How about building your whole tablescape from this inspiring Nutcracker inspiration with its golds and pretty blue with green?
Even simple gold chargers from the Dollar store could go under these paper plates for an inexpensive start.
Timeless White Ribbon for Everything
It’s so luxurious and elegant on a wreath, gift, tree, or ?
Cableknit Christmas Stockings
My white holiday stockings are ivory velvet, but these are so tempting to add!
Pretty Neutral Throw Pillows
It doesn’t shout Christmas, holidays or even winter, and I think that is why I love it so much as a staple for neutral holiday elements. Every color will look stunning next to it.
