My sister Jo and I spent today (Black Friday) together, and the only unplugged shopping we did was at our favorite source for farmhouse style decor: Urban Farmgirl (716 N. Madison, Rockford, IL). What a wonderful experience to get into the spirit of decorating for Christmas! Rustic, vintage style, farmhouse, industrial farmhouse, and country Christmas finds at friendly prices charmed us thoroughly. Oh, URBAN FARMGIRL, what a charming city gem packed full of country Christmas dreams, you are!
Did you see my favorite gift picks HERE? Here are two favorites around $25:
Be Blessed by the Glory of Children’s Voices Raised
The holidays can be too light on the holy if we’re not intentional about finding their wonder and light. Music is one way to let your heart be lightened and opened, and here’s a choral arrangement of “Glorious” which does it for me.
“Glorious” written by Stephanie Mabey
[Verse 1] There are times when you might feel aimless You can’t see the places where you belong But you will find that there is a purpose It’s been there within you all along and when you’re near it You can almost hear it
[Chorus] It’s like a symphony just keep listenin’ And pretty soon you’ll start to figure out your part Everyone plays a piece and there are melodies In each one of us, oh, it’s glorious
[Verse 2] You will know how to let it ring out as you discover who you are Others around you will start to wake up To the sounds that are in their hearts It’s so amazin’, what we’re all creatin’
[Chorus] It’s like a symphony just keep listenin’ And pretty soon you’ll start to figure out your part Everyone plays a piece and there are melodies In each one of us, oh, it’s glorious
And as you feel the notes build You will see
It’s like a symphony just keep listenin’ And pretty soon you’ll start to figure out your part Everyone plays a piece and there are melodies In each one of us, oh, it’s glorious
Wishing you Christmas joy,
delight as you find your part in the symphony,
and
Peace to you right where you are.

Haha. Thanks. Isn’t that truck fabulous? It is parked in front of Urban Farmgirl’s shop for photo ops! I have to return so someone can snap a photo of both me and my sis with it!

I love little shops like that! If I was there with you, those big bells would have come home with me! They would be perfect hanging in my front porch or on a tree.
You really should frame that picture of you sitting on the truck. Those boots are the perfect accessory. So cute!
I’m hosting my first Pre Christmas get together tonight. I prefer small groups to big parties. When I was younger and more energetic, I would have parties of fifty or more. Now, I like three or four couples. I know it’s early but for some reason I’m in the mood, so the white lights are twinkling and Christmas music is softly playing in the background.
Happy decorating, Michelle!
Your get together sounds perfect, and I’m in the mood too so bring on the twinkly white lights and some deliciousness. Those bells were incredible and on my list as well. Enjoy the season! xox

I’ve looked for those bells for an entire year. If anyone knows where to find them, I’d sure appreciate you posting here. Michelle, I agree with you – get your sister with you and get another photo of you both sitting in that truck and frame it. I love it.
Thank you! You could contact them here: https://www.instagram.com/urban.farmgirl/ about the bells, and I’ll also check about them when I visit the shop again. I am hoping to get a photo on that tailgate with my husband too – a great Christmas photo for sure. 🙂

Oh thank you so much. Going to contact them today. Photo with the hubby would make a beautiful treasure.
Oh, Michele, I just ordered three of them – had to get the 10″ diameter ones because the smaller ones were sold out. I’m so excited. And it’s all because of you. Thank you so much.
I don’t have a shop at the moment, but my local favs are Urban Farmgirl (716 N. Madison in Rockford) and Vintage Bliss (Beloit, WI). And don’t miss Trove at Vintage Bliss. Main Street Market is the best time too and the next one is Sept. 11 at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
Great post! Happy decorating🎄
