Today’s Storybook Cottage in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee: Home Tour shares glimpses of our stay in the 800 square foot fairytale cottage with interiors designed by Dave and Kim Leggett of City Farmhouse. I’m crazy about Kim’s style and shared a review of her book, City Farmhouse Style in a story here. What a rare treat to experience and actually live as a local in such a character-filled, lovingly curated, professionally designed property as Storybook Cottage!
House Tour: Tiny Tennessee Cottage
I loved our road trip to the Southeast last summer, and after motoring through Charlotte, Charleston, Savannah, and Chattanooga for brief stays, we arrived in Leipers Fork.
Leiper’s Fork
This sleepy unincorporated village (eight miles west of Franklin and 30 miles south of Nashville) is where we booked the sweetest little home away from home for relaxing…Storybook Cottage.
Storybook Cottage in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee: Home Tour With Photos & Decorating Ideas
What to do in Leiper’s Fork? We relaxed in the cottage and took long scenic drives as well as explored the Natchez Trace Trail.
We also stalked houses for sale, ate delicious bbq at Puckett’s (karaoke night is an experience, y’all!). And of course, we enjoyed shopping in nearby Franklin, too which boasts a fabulous downtown. While we didn’t make any trips to Nashville, it’s an easy drive.

Living Room
I loved this charming box of wise and whimsical quotes on a side table in the living room!

Inside: Whimsically Painted Poplar Wood Floors, Fully stocked and equipped kitchen, Washer and Dryer, Cathedral Ceiling, One Bedroom as well as a Sleeping Loft.
Outside: Outdoor Shower, Screen porch and deck, Hammock, Firepit, Stacked Stone Wall, a Place for Horses as well as QUIET.
YOU can stay here too!

Yes please…. Forget staying here I want to STAY here! As in move in. That little gem is a 6 hour drive from our house in GA. I’m emailing today to find out if our little havanese Phoebe would be able (allowed) to join us there . Loving it and eating up your post on Franklin….. I’m thinking a holiday trip is in our future .
Hahaha – that’s the spirit. I bet you’ll be able to bring your sweet pup, and since there’s no carpet or anything precious, the secluded 8 acres should make her happy. 🙂 I still have to post about our little excursion to Savannah. I’m always too swamped to post my own life stuff. 🙂
Michele,
OMG, that cottage is beyond precious. I loved every room. I just sat here drooling over your pictures. Wow, you must have enjoyed your time there. You do have a way of taking the most beautiful pictures. I loved her book.
Thanks for sharing the house tour.
Hugs,
Bev
Hahaha – you’d love it there, Bev. It was designed for folks just like us who delight in the timeworn and want to feel cozy and comfy away from home. Thanks so much for playing along and making it fun. 🙂
Wow, what an amazing cottage! My husband and I have wanted to take a trip to Tennesse for some time, and this looks like the perfect spot for some rest and relaxation. Thank you for all of the wonderful pictures that are a virtual visit in themselves. I’ve featured it today at Thursday Favorite Things. Thanks for taking us there!
I appreciate the feature so much, Pam. Thank you for sharing this lovely cottage tour. You’ll love it if you go. It is a rare privilege to be able to live for a time in professionally designed interiors by creatives who are so well respected (Kim Leggett is a genius!!!!) so I didn’t take it lightly. Of course you are from Missouri – those folks are the BEST, and we loved our years there so much. Peace to you, friend.
Michele,
I hope you are doing better and the rest of your family. I know you have been going through some really difficult times – health wise. Her dog is doing better. Thanks for asking. I love that cottage and all of the little things that make it special.
Take care my friend. I keep you in my prayers.
Hugs,
Bev
Thanks so much for the update and the support, Bev. Peace to you right where you are.

We always wanted to go over for a long weekend as it is 3 hours from us but they don’t allow pets and we can’t leave our cat home alone. Very cute place.
Well, if you decide to head to the heartland, you can come stay at our place anytime with your fur baby, and I’m a cat grandma now so he can have instant compansions. 🙂 We were planning a trip to the Nashville area just when all the storms hit! Hope to get back soon
