15 Inspiring Charlotte Home Exteriors Snapped on My Vacation in the Southeast
We drove (slowly!) by these beautiful and mostly traditional style homes with lovely architectural details on our brief visit to Charlotte as we roadtripped to the Southeast. Several homes are located in the Quail Hollow community (a luxurious neighborhood between Park and Carmel Roads, near Quail Hollow Country Club), and some of them are even on the market if you’re home shopping in Charlotte! Enjoy today’s Inspiring Charlotte Home Exteriors Snapped on My Vacation in the Southeast.
I loved the road trip my husband and I took last month to see new to me places and to consider potential locations to retire in a few years. The other day I shared glimpses of a shopping trip to Arhaus in Charlotte. Stay tuned for more inspiration from more visits we enjoyed in Charleston, SC and also Franklin, TN!

This 2013-built custom home at 1926 Luther Street. What a lovely newer home with charm and inspiring good looks!
Time to choose a favorite Charlotte house exterior, and you may have guessed my favs by the number of images shared…hahahahaha. I just love #1 with its understated French country curb appeal, and I spent a lot of time in front of that house just sighing dreamily. If you are the owner, bravo! And I hope I didn’t creep you out.
The other Charlotte home exterior I’m nutty for is #13: a charming newer home which somehow captures the French, cottage, and farmhouse design elements I so admire.
To all of my Charlotte followers – what a beautiful place to live. Since we were just passing through and only spent one night in Charlotte, we did not see as much of your fair city as we wished, but we will return.

It has something special, doesn’t it? I’m with you. I’m dreaming of a fairytale French inspired simple cottage or farmhouse with some acreage and trees to feel as though we have our own little kingdom. 🙂 Thanks so much for playing along – it’s wonderful having you here.
Thanks for reading, Michele! Of course I love your picks and your beautifully spelled name. 🙂

We love to visit family in Charlotte. Cute town that is like a smaller Atlanta. Am fond of the cottage/bungalow look that is prominent. One area to see is NODA. It has lots of little businesses and is highly walkable. We like to walk the dogs to a microbrewery and people watch. Thank you for the posts of the beautiful houses.
Sounds lovely – what a great tip for our next visit. Thanks, Kim! And thanks for reading – it’s great having you here. 🙂

What a surprise to see this post, Michele. We now live in another city, but spent many years in Charlotte and still refer to it as home. We are considering a return when hubby retires in a few more years. Wanna be neighbors? Would love that to be the case. I loved that sweet city most during the 80’s and 90’s before so many others moved there, before the secret was out that it was a wonderful place to live. Beautiful homes and neighborhoods to be sure, and a well designed layout for the city. Now, a bit too much traffic. Will always hold Charlotte close to my heart. So glad that you had an opportunity to stop in and see a bit of the charm. So much more to see and do. I would be happy to give you more information if needed.
I’d love to be neighbors! I was shocked to hear about the explosive growth in Charlotte. Billboards asking for teachers and housing shortages I’m told. I am not sure we’ll be in Charlotte though since we are leaning toward Arizona and the Southwest rather than the Southeast as we explore communities. There is something very spiritual for me about the desert landscape and the mountains I spend time with in Arizona. I love the heat, and the absence of humidity is not a small thing either. But I will definitely return to Charlotte and the South because there is so much charm and beauty. 🙂
Hi Michele,
I like the White House with the brick driveway and rocker on the front porch! They’re all so pretty though!! Love Charlotte. I’m glad that you had a nice trip to the southeast. You covered a lot of ground girlfriend!!
It was so classic and all American! We did cover a lot of ground, and we definitely got a taste of many different communities as we collected ideas for retirement possibilities. Arizona may be where we end up though because everything gets compared to that place we love! 🙂

Hi Michele! The White House at 205 Brandywine was our house when we lived in Charlotte! I did all of the renovations and addition to the house. To this day it is by far my favorite of all of the renovations that I have done! Thanks so much for choosing it as one of your favorites!!!
You got my vote!! Congrats!

Thanks so much, Leslie! You are so good to me, and such an inspiration. 🙂
I’m going with #15 – The fairy tale cottage. Cute and cozy – just not a fan of being so close to other houses.
