Oh the lovely vintage treasures and charming Christmas decor inspiration to be found at Trove-Vintage! Trove is a favorite shop of mine which expanded, moving from Rockford, IL to: online, Chicago (4200 W. Diversey), and inside Vintage Bliss in Beloit, WI. Last year I shared peeks at a visit to the shop which included time with my boyfriends…Westies Angus and Alistair. Behold: Colorful Vintage Christmas Decor, Shop Dogs & Holiday Baking!

Colorful Vintage Christmas Decor, Shop Dogs & Holiday Baking!

Trove-Vintage for Holiday Decor
Sisters Elizabeth and Mary opened this gem of a vintage goods store Trove in 2016 within a Rockford store formerly Bloom’s Candy Store. Bloom’s was around the corner from their childhood home so they had all these sweet memories of the place. (I also have the fondest memories of the penny candy store “The Candy Jar” around the corner from my childhood home!)

In fact, Trove used to be a hop and a skip over from Urban Farmgirl, which we recently toured RIGHT HERE.

Here’s my sis and I before we left to shop for vintage and holiday cheer…click the image below to play video:

The Vintage Goods, Decor & Gift Ideas
Trove is magical, as you will see. Primitive pieces and unique objects mingle with nostalgia and luscious colors that feel like a warm hug.

If you are the nesting type, appreciate one of a kind finds, and admire a rustic refined look for home interiors, this is a destination which will tug at your heartstrings.

Festive Shop Dogs!
You cannot miss the delightfully dapper Westies who run the place!

These darling West Highland White Terrier pups outfitted in tartan bring smiles to everyone including this fairy on the prairie.

This Green Cupboard!
This circa 1860’s primitive cupboard original to the Dunham family farmhouse in Wayne, IL, boasts 15 drawers, three doors and four shelves. The chippy green paint is stunning and perfectly patina-ed. IT’S FOR SALE RIGHT NOW! This isn’t a sponsored post, and I don’t earn any commission, but do tell Trove I sent you if you decide to be the new owner!

We Pause for: Holiday Baking!
I bake all year round and just fell in love with an elf-like baker of yum. I binge watched Food Network’s Holiday Baking Championship 2016 (Season 3) which saw home baker Jason Smith crowned the champion. This Kentucky native stole every scene with his Southern banter and low key quirky goodness. He went on to win an even grander title…Food Network Star.
He was so entertaining to watch, and I learned so many baking and pastry tips from the contestants along the way. Here’s Jason with Rachel and Emeril last year. SCOOPY-DOO…so much lingo and technique to learn…hahahahaha.

Don’t you love their style!?! And those Westies are the sweetest things ever. Thanks for reading.
Michele,
I agree, Thanksgiving was so close to Christmas that I am still trying to decorate. I hope to be done by tomorrow. I love shops like that one. Those dogs are just too precious for words. We don’t have any shops like that here, I wish.
I am also trying to remember the reason for the season and focus on that.
I hope this finds you well.
Have a lovely week.
Hugs,
Bev

Great to hear from you, Bev. No one is feeling good about the holidays getting bunched up this year. Yes, you’d love Trove, and I’m so happy there are still shop owners who go the extra mile and bring their well dressed pups to work. Wishing you peace across the miles.
