Remember when we only thought of Amazon when it was time to order a book? The convenience and prices are hard to beat for things around the house and self-care. Especially with staggering prices these days (dairy to real estate can sting like the dickens!). For this post, I looked around the house for great buys scored on Amazon. From an eclectic mix of personal items, decor, and tools, I bet you’ll spy picks that may work for you too.
July 4th Tablescape Tips
Are you a 4th of July decorator? This has been a busy season of DIY for me, so no big celebration with a pretty table to show off. Not that I have a history of pretty tablescapes from the past! I have excuses though. (1) The struggle to decorate with red is real. (2) We have been lucky enough to get invited to patriotic parties of friends where we need only show up with brownies. (3) My brownies are transcendent.
The thing is, it’s relatively one of the easier holidays as far as simple tablescape plans go.
From the above rustic country patriotic tablescape, we can borrow from Kara’s lead with these tips:
-use books to elevate a pedestal
-simply embellish a naked cake with a few berries
-scatter little clear glass votive candles on the table
Does it get easier than picnic-ready red check cloth napkins on thrifted vintage blue china? Probably not. But it CAN get prettier when those napkins have a monogram! How wonderful to have them at the ready each and every year for memory making.
But don’t forget that red transferware dishes and blue hydrangea are a killer combo too! And does it get more Americana than precious country checks?

Vintage China, Checks, & Hydrangea
Indigo and cobalt blue are perfect for an Independence Day celebration with red, white, and blue. (And you definitely received the memo at this point: HYDRANGEA IS OBLIGATORY.)
Who is rushing out to the thrift store or antique mall to hunt for vintage blue dinner plates? For an extra informal, whimsical look? Collect different patterns and mix them on the table.
Not a tablescape inspiration as much as a lifestyle moment to consider above. What a statement a vintage Pepsi crate can make with simple flowers and American flags! Isn’t it a lovely centerpiece?

If it’s a serene bath experience you’re after, you can always gut your bathroom, lose your mind making plumbing-related decisions, and easily fork over fifteen grand to upgrade it. Or…maybe just create a ‘Calgon, take me away’ moment with a few trustworthy Amazon finds.

I don’t love flowery scents or anything overwhelming since I tend to be allergic or sensitive to everything. If you inquire about the fragrance of Shampure, you may see “lavender” pop up in descriptions. I never recognized it in Shampure. For me, it is subtle and complex and very much like those Parisian scents I encountered when visiting.
I have ordered AVEDA on Amazon with no issues, but I still order shampoo and other products directly. Finally, they have formulated Shampure into a hand/body wash! I used the shampoo as a body wash for years because, again, there is NOTHING like this fragrance anywhere else, and it’s very unisex. My husband loves it too.
Drybrushing is definitely one of those old school practices that is also all the rage. You can hardly beat the price on this set.
An Uncommonly Versatile Accent Table
Now about these tables. I am thinking about buying the rectangular shaped one since I will never tire of my round ones. (The table in the photo at top shows it in the bath, and I’m currently using two rounds as bedside tables in a guest bedroom where I want to keep things airy and minimal.)
And it’s not just me crushing on the accent table. A couple of days ago, 21 of you bought the rectangular one! If it happens to be in stock, wow, you got lucky! Here’s the bedroom to which I referred:
Even though the wallpaper is grisaille style like the mural I put in the entry, this one’s a different pattern and is an abstract motif from Photowall called “Beauty Everywhere.” There’s a great holiday sale happening if you decide to spring for wallpaper, and they make it a breeze (and include the paste) compared to how we used to do things years ago.
Loving This Lightweight Cordless Blower
How did I live without this cordless blower in my life? I rarely get pumped about tools or gadgets but after I received a press sample of this baby…
So happy to discover ZoomBroom and experience the ease of erasing the mess my ferns and flowers make on the front porch daily. It’s a literal breeze! Hahaha.
