In my own home, I drag out my pointe shoe collection for the softer side of pink…European peachy pink to be precise.
Ballet slippers bring a sense of nostalgia since I was once the daydreaming sugar plum fairy.
I never took dance until college, and it was there I was shocked by the athleticism (and pain!) undergirding those beautiful performances.
My appreciation for dance was renewed as I learned that while I may be rhythmic, I am not nearly as flexible as I imagined!
However, not being great at something doesn’t mean you must be locked out from its joy.
Another reason ballet slippers continue to inspire my heart is the humbling realization of strength, discipline and dedication underlying the beauty.
Blogging and content creation may appear to be a clever way to earn a living, but the reality would likely surprise you. Competition, perseverance, setbacks, flexibility, and hours of work.
With the demands of such a vocation, I need home to offer a soft landing. Little pops of precious and pretty never hurt. These garden roses on my coffee table are favorites from Grace Rose Farm, and I sometimes order them during the holidays.
