Classic Blue Kitchen Ideas
Classic Blue Subway Tile in a Butler Pantry
Isn’t this an amazing shade of blue?
Are you loving the warm brass hardware with the cool blues?
This weekend I’ll be firming up plans for my own kitchen renovation, and I’m considering varying the countertop material as you see in this kitchen. Wood in the butler pantry and stone or quartz elsewhere.
Butler Pantry as Secret Room
However, I don’t think we’ll be able to work this secret entrance into our design plan…what a concept!
Detail of a Pantry Interior
It has been years since I have had a kitchen pantry that is an actual separate space, and what a luxury to be able to hide a lot of oversized appliances and clutter, yes?
Rich Blue Painted Hutch With Cremone Bolts
When you want to make a statement in your breakfast nook…
right?
the hardware is just breathtaking!
Symmetry in a Breakfast Nook With Blue
And why settle for just one blue hutch when you can have two?
I just love those little niches for spices near the range.
Custom Vent Hood Over Range
The millwork in this kitchen is exceptional and so stately!
So many details to consider, and I see the edge of the stone on the island is built up and grand in contrast to that on the peripheral counters.
Edward Deegan Kitchen Renovation: Classic & Blue
In this kitchen, royal blue demands our attention.
I’m also admiring the mercury glass pendants and tranquil grey on tile and ceiling.
The diamond pattern we see on the island’s end shows up on kitchen windows…so unique.
I have a sneaky suspicion you are going to note many more inspiring design details in what follows…
For example, notice all the geometry going on with the shapes of light fixtures, furnishings, and architectural details.
Classic Built-ins
The diamond pattern is a repetitive one we see on the built-in’s doors as well.
Aren’t the lamps on the island interesting?
Powder Bath With Blue Accents
If you love Visual Comfort lighting, I bet you admire this chandelier in the powder room.
I love how interesting the wallpapered panels are in here too.
Seamless Integration of Door to Powder Bath

Traditional Style in a Dining Room
So much pretty tradition in the dining room:

Natural materials such as stone and wood (which age well and also feel comfortable underfoot) are right at home in a kitchen meant to endure.

6. Architectural Symmetry
Contemporary and modern style kitchens are often designed with angles, curves, and also unique configurations.
While there are a variety of traditional kitchen design details, symmetry is commonplace. In this kitchen above, windows flank the range, imparting a pleasing balance as well as formality.
Charming Laundry Room With Navy Blue
The introduction of classic navy blue on base cabinets in the laundry room certainly adds a charming coastal feel which remains timeless.

Magnificent Millwork & Mudroom
Plenty of traditional design elements fall from favor. Herringbone pattern flooring, for example, is having a moment across design styles. It’s a configuration which may be traced back to ancient Egyptian jewelry as well as Roman Empire roadways.
In this mudroom space, herringbone tile flooring stands up to abuse, defines the space, and repeats the cheerful blue accent introduced throughout the home.
Whimsical Wall Covering & Painted Beadboard
Why not bring a smile to every guest who enters a jewel box of a powder bath? A console sink and beaded board trim recall the past yet feel glamorous and fresh.

I’m so frustrated with them, and it’s not the fault of the ad company – it is a Google style issue they are working to resolve. Such a disaster! I hope it will be gone soon.
