White & Grey Paint Color Ideas: Modern Farmhouse
White Siding + Grey Front Door
So much understated charm and sophistication in this English farmhouse style home with white siding, grey accents, classic architecture, and traditional design details.
The result is a brand new yet timeless family home with modern amenities smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood of older homes.
A Friendly and Unfussy Dark Grey Front Door
I love how thoughtfully this entrance was designed. It whispers and feels authentic in its simplicity…no need to show off!

Pared Down & Simple Accents
You might want to expand these images to fully appreciate some of the decor choices. A sweet coir doormat with a single heart charms guests straight away at the front door. To see additional lovely options, go HERE since you just might fancy something fresh for the season.
I have a soft spot for this sweetheart, to which you could easily add your initials with a white paint pen found here.
Grey Contrast for a White Traditional Yet Modern Farmhouse
While black can often feel too austere, the contrasting charcoal grey with bright white feels classic yet contemporary.
Fresh Yet Traditional Lantern Sconce
Here’s a classically designed lantern style sconce idea for your exterior:
Traditional Transom
What a beautiful design feature suggestive of age and oozing timeless style.
A Tried & True White Paint Color
Modern Farmhouse Entry With Herringbone Hardwood
Hardwoods installed with a herringbone pattern…it’s not just for French country manors!
Dramatic Lighting With Modern Appeal
Grey Painted Built-Ins in Library
When cozy and custom are buzzwords for you, medium grey on bookshelves may appeal. Built-ins add so much instant character to new construction.
Love a brass pharmacy lamp or antiqued brass task floor lamp? I found a few HERE.
Idea for a Grey Paint Color: Benjamin Moore Deep Silver
The yummy velvety paint color on all the wood trim and door seems reminiscent of BENJAMIN MOORE Deep Silver 2124-30, a lighter version of the BENJAMIN MOORE Trout Gray, which was chosen for cabinetry throughout this home.
Easiest way to see if a color is right? Order samples to be delivered to your door with Samplize (a peel and stick sheet of “paint” to stick on your wall and easily move around to other walls!).
Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Design Details
This white modern farmhouse kitchen is one for the books.
Bespoke kitchen design details? Check. Classic Shaker cabinets? You betcha. White subway, brass lighting and hardware, warm wood open shelving? It’s all here in addition to a professional range and massive island.

Globe pendants over the island play an important design feature and are from Visual Comfort – HERE.
If you love MCM, here’s a lamp you might like:
Antiqued Brass Kitchen Accents
Warm antiqued brass library style wall sconces and retro island pendants suggest age and impart an English library feel.
Antiqued brass lights on sink wall: Visual Comfort (called library lights and you can FIND THEM HERE.)
The fireclay apron front farm sink is a beauty, and I can’t say enough positive things about how much I love my own – find a farmhouse sink RIGHT HERE.
Handsome and simple kitchen faucet/sprayer is RIGHT HERE.
Modern Farmhouse Open Shelving
While open shelving may not be unexpected in a modern farmhouse kitchen, here’s inspiration for a decidedly less rustic look. Natural wood pairs smartly with white subway tile and Shaker style cabinetry. The shelves offer opportunity to add decor and personality to the neutral space.
Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Cabinets
Don’t you love the glass door detail The Fox Group added to the wall cabinets on the range wall? New kitchens are rarely designed with traditional style wall cabinets which extend to the ceiling!
Simple brass cabinet pulls are from Emtek (HERE).

It’s beautifully done. Farmhouse is not my style but I can appreciate the appeal.
Any house with a porch grabs at my heart. I feel porches are like a welcoming hug. I’m trying to convince my husband to plank the ceiling of our porch. I just love the look!
After moving into our new build, we decided we didn’t like the kitchen so we hired a designer and gutted to rebuild M.y perfect kitchen. It is very similar to the one above but I had mine painted a warm white. It was worth every penny. Now…that Island! You could have a whole party on that one! Dancing anyone?
Author
We have always dreamed of a beautiful porch – yes, a hug! I’ll dance with you anyday on an island like that. 🙂
I knew you would! Dance with abandonment…like no one is watching. That’s one of the things I love about you.
