This afternoon I will happily attend a bridal shower in honor of my nephew and his beloved (did you catch the ‘what to wear’ post? I’ll share toward the end of this post what I decided to wear). It’s as good an excuse as any to share Pink & Gold Bridal Shower Decor, DIY + Gift Ideas since wedding season has arrived!
Aren’t these pretty balloons fabulous!?! They are the colors of my dreams!

Pink & Gold Bridal Shower Decor, DIY + Gift Ideas
I love a cake topper that can be re-purposed for other celebrations!
And I have an ongoing love affair with these tissue blooms!
Making them is fun too, and I have made dozens of white and blush pink ones for no good reason at all.
Who knew paper straws could also be chic?

Handpainted Roses
Have you ever wanted to learn to paint pretty watercolor roses? How about handmade invitations for events beyond bridal showers with your own original art (or if the guest list is long, an original watercolor painting you can reproduce)!?!
Here’s a tutorial to help you get started.

Gift Ideas
Most couples register for gifts these days, and here are a few little wedding related sweet gifts to consider as well.
My favorite bridal shower or wedding gift suggestion is a good table, desk, or mantel clock. This was one of the best gifts I received at my own wedding back in 1987, and it has been used every single day since then, remaining on my bedside table to this day!
Here are three fine and good quality possibilities like mine, in three price ranges.
Great Bridal Shower or Wedding Related Gifts
Know how many times I have heard the story of a bride and groom ready to cut the first slice of wedding cake at the reception who realize they don’t have pretty utensils for the task? What a great gift!
How perfect is this little leaded glass and brass box to display and store wedding jewelry for the bride to be (or any bits, baubles, and bling for ME or YOU!!!!).
I discovered Tocca’s Cleopatra scent at the Elysian Spa in Chicago where its loveliness was everywhere (in the soap dispenser, as a creme for the hands, in the air, sold at the counter), and I’m still hooked. Cleopatra shower gel is in my shower, hand soap on my vanity, and since I’m out of the perfume…this is going in my cart:
Could they get any cuter? The set is such a perfect, price friendly gift! Three mini eau de parfums of Tocca’s fragrances: Florence, Stella, and Cleopatra. Florence is Italian bergamot with crushed violet petals, gardenia, and sophisticated blonde woods. Stella evokes blood orange and spicy lily with white freesia and sandalwood. My favorite…Cleopatra features sparkling grapefruit with lush greens. white jasmine, and a hint of vanilla musk. Holy yum.
While Shopping BHLDN…
I can’t resist bridal fashion, and I own a couple of BHLDN’s capelets because…(1) fairies love a delicate gossamer capelet and (2) upper arms sometimes jiggle jiggle, and this hushes them tout suite!
I’m wearing a little BHLDN capelet over a tan shift dress from Banana Republic like this:
Ooooh, a capelet in a Rose color!
Bridal Shower Decor & DIY Ideas
So many lovely resources on the web for purchasing pretty paper flowers or learning to make them.
You can buy these lovely creations:
Or you can try your hand at making them. My favorite paper flowers are made by Noel Solomon of Fanciful Design Co as she is the first artist I recall crafting these lovely designs.
I was ecstatic when talented Noel joined Martha Stewart on her show to demonstrate her method! Here’s the tutorial:
Fanciful Design Co’s creations are so chic yet timeless!

I love your idea of giving a good clock as a bridal gift. It’s something that everyone needs but probably would not invest in a good one for themselves. It is also something that will last a lifetime. Great idea!
