It’s beyond silly, but, design detail sticklers like us notice…OMG, that’s my dish soap and hand soap near Reese Witherspoon’s sink in the movie (huge Murchison-Hume fan here for years)!
The film was shot in a 1929 Spanish-style hacienda in Brentwood, California, and interiors were designed by production designer Ellen Brill. Set decoration was by Nicole Cates.

Since the main character is an interior designer, it makes sense that to get the look of her home, you would look to designer fabric made pillows.
Look for linen upholstered comfy furniture pieces with simple lines and coastal style chairs. Since the midcentury house is one Reese’s character’s lived in as a child in the 70s, that MCM reference should also be considered.
There’s nothing stuffy or pretentious about these interiors. You want to plop down on everything.

Even though there are plenty of less pricey side tables, investing in one that will still look relevant in a decade may be the right decision.
