“Just past the asylum?” Oh lala. When I read that word I am aware of its multiple meanings:

the protection granted by a nation to someone who has left their native country as a political refugee.
“she applied for asylum and was granted refugee status”
2.
an institution offering shelter and support to people who are mentally ill.
“he’d been committed to an asylum”
There’s a poignancy in each definition, yes? Who doesn’t require more analog, restful time?

Each new day is an opportunity to make space for enlightenment not by THINKING about enlightenment but by living it with an embodied YES to the ordinary.
There is a detectable current in the flow from a hidden source of delight and freedom. What obstacles, bitterness, and resentment inhibit the flow? As I become more aware of them, they can be addressed.

Thoughts of healing, wholeness, and wounds are always close to me. But now I am able to see how healing is ample and already present, not scarce or elusive.
Where I begin and end the day with an open, soft, aching heart aligned with LOVE, I can align with healing. Will such alignment break throughout the day? Yes. Can I continue returning, returning, returning to Love like the prodigal? Like a blind beggar? Like a rose unfurling?
Living with wounds is our doorway to the riches of humility. An opportunity to exit pride and enter into relationship with goodness on the planet.
Wounds bless us with a permeability. When we are hollowed, fertile spaces become home to where flow can flow. Seeds of hope and faith may grow. Is it not sweet consolation when rest can replace striving? A surrendered soul can become a dark sky pierced by stars, a cosmic garden where new thoughts and new dreams are born.
