As timeless kitchens go, this Hamptons kitchen (well a movie set kitchen) remains relevant! Each year we revisit Erica Barry’s white traditional coastal kitchen in that amazing Hamptons beach house! Believe it or not, 20 years have flown by since this Nancy Meyers classic rocked the kitchen design world as Americans suddenly had a fever for high end Hamptons chic. I know it greatly influenced me when we built our first home not long after Something’s Gotta Give was released. We’ll peek at elements of this unforgettable classic coastal kitchen where Diane Keaton’s Erica whipped up late night pancakes for a smitten Harry Sanborn.

There’s such a wide range of how to interpret classic coastal style, yes?
We may as well start with my own kitchen:

Why not make a statement with your favorite color?

Mixing hardware metals is more than okay. For example, notice the brass, stainless, and black all playing nice together below.

A subtle gray island and shiplap on the ceiling add such laid back luxe charm:

Oui, you DO need the requisite bowl of fresh fruit on the counter…

and plenty of subway tile!

Methinks we need another post devoted to coastal breakfast nooks!
