Brooke & Steve’s Lovely Book: Giannetti Patina Homes
What a privilege to peek inside Giannetti-designed homes (surely commissioned by movers, shakers, celebrities, and dignitaries!) in California and beyond and to spy Steve Giannetti’s artistry.
Brooke and Steve Giannetti
The architect’s ability to creatively balance elements of classicism, livability, and modernity is truly awe inspiring.
Brooke Giannetti’s gentle, sunny, intuitive approach to understated yet elegant interiors has been winning over fans for many years. Her favored palette is JUST so positively soothing.
Heart-stopping Interiors Photography by Lisa Romerein
Patina Homes welcomes us graciously with stunning photography (mostly by Lisa Romerein) and also secrets behind 12 character-rich projects from Giannetti Homes’ portfolio.
Tour a modern house in the desert as well as a West Coast showstopper which captures the essence and presence of a memorable South of France Bastide.
Let’s peek inside so I can show you what I mean…
I am sort of hopelessly in love with their Creekside (Malibu) project! What lucky homeowners!
Could this bespoke kitchen be any more understated, elegant, and warm? All of the materials are rich and timeless, yet the space isn’t showing off. It is built to endure.
What Giannetti homes appear PATINA HOMES?
Patina Farm, Provençal, Atherton, Oceanside, Maine, Cliff House, Palm Desert, Fern Hollow, Bonhill, Wisteria, Creekside, Fouplegade, and Malibu Colony.
I love this bath so much! And aren’t the gilded moments a sweet surprise? I spy a certain Darlana pendant that I bought for a space in my own home (stay tuned, real life renovation is slow going when you only have a few hours each week after work!).
The staircase is in this home is so memorable. I admire the iron work and the delicate profile of it.
I am ready to move right in, are you!?!
Pages of inspiring gorgeously photographed patina-ed design in this masterpiece of a portfolio, along with commentary from the ever-humble Giannetti team.
Are you dreaming about spaces where you too can add patina style? I’m noticing details like aged weathered antiques paired with pristine white walls, linen, and fresh blooms.
Patina Farm’s Palette
For those of us who have followed the Giannettis for eons (since the dawn of Brooke’s Velvet and Linen blog’s first posts!), we know the palette by heart.
However, if you’re a more recent fan of the work, these peeks at Patina Farm may fill in the blanks.
Incredible examples of Swedish antiques.
Do you love the Scandinavian influences at Patina Farm?
Even with all the layering, things still feel light as a feather and ethereal.
Inspiring the Authors at Home on the Farm
While these glorious creatures don’t appear alongside the interiors in the new book, you’ll always find Patina Farm’s stars gracing Giannetti social media feeds!
Wait. It’s a real farm? Not just a house built to suggest a European farmhouse?
I think Beatrice’s presence sort of says it all. Oh, Patina Farm is a farm, y’all.
Thelma and Dot seem beyond happy to call this slice of heaven home.
And Paisley can’t stop smiling.
Just imagine the daily adventures of the always curious Sherlock and Watson.
If there was a farm version of Vogue, Adelaide might be its cover girl. (You DO give good face, Adelaide.)
And can you imagine the joy of waking to see the heart-shaped noses of babydoll sheep each morning?

Me too – I hope the long linen tunic which laced in the back is brought back – I should have ordered it when I had the chance! Happy Easter, lovely.
Velvet and Linen was the very first blog I discovered and I was instantly smitten! As I dream and draw visions for my own little farm, I always have my copy of Patina Living close at hand! Thanks for sharing and Happy Easter to you and yours.

All of these years – and patina style doesn’t ever lose its radiance! Thanks so much for adding to the beauty here. Happy Easter, friend. 🙂
Michele! You ARE AMAZING! Such BEAUTY Indeed! I am going to order those books, ASAP! Do they actually mention the paint colour palettes used? I wonder what that Gorgeous off-white colour seen in those romantic bedrooms, kitchen even bathroom is? It seems to be the exact same off-white! Absolutely DREAMY!

The Giannettis create the most beautiful homes I have ever seen! In most cases the reason we don’t hear about paint colors is because the walls are either plaster or covered with a plaster-like finish such as kal-kote which the Giannettis have used on walls at Patina Farm (thin layer right over drywall and no paint required).
GENIUS! Thank You Michele!

You bet. 🙂
I love love love Brooke and Steve, I miss her blog Velvet and Linen. But I love to read the books and see the animals on Instagram. I cannot wait to see what they do in Tennessee.

Those were the days back when it was just a few of us in blogland, and everything was friendlier and more accessible. I’m excited about TN too. I have spent time in the area where they are building, and it’s amazing and so beautiful. We have talked about retiring there so who knows? Maybe I’ll be a farmhand. 🙂
Oh wow, the Gianetti’s are building in TN?! That’s just down the road from me!

Let’s meet at their TN farm, Amy! I’m serious! Let’s do it!
