Like me, designer Leanne Ford is devoted and unabashedly passionate about the transforming power of WHITE PAINT. She swaths it on everything, and tells her friends and anyone in earshot that a can of Behr Pure White (right off the shelf at Home Depot, without the bother of tinting) is a sure thing. Keep reading to find names for more Leanne Ford White Paint Favorites from BEHR as well as some bonus colors from PPG she has used brilliantly.

What is Leanne Ford’s Pick for a Cool White?
Behr CAMEO WHITE
The designer and stylemaker loves this white paint color to create brightness and says it will feel airy. I wholeheartedly agree and love cool white to modernize and freshen a space inside or out.
Don’t you think Leanne’s styling leans toward European inspired?
Here’s a swatch of Cameo White, and you can see the grey undertones (and maybe green?). I have not found it to be cold or sterile, and I’m considering it for my kitchen walls for some contrast with white cabinets. (I mean, I think they’re going to be white…I’m painting them so time will tell!)
Pin this so you can refer to it when you need it:
What is Leanne’s Favorite True White Paint Color?
Ultra White by BEHR
If you’re after the brightest white with minimal undertones and a very modern look, try Behr Ultra White. You can see it on brick in this Midcentury space by Leanne Ford:
This color is basically the color we painted our entire former home. We chose Benjamin Moore White, which is the base that all their whites are made from.
I can’t tell you how it transformed that fixer upper and brought it back to life. Lisa Furey also used BM White inside and out of her coastal cottage in Palmetto Bluffs here.
What White Paint Color Does Leanne Ford Like for Warm White?
Crisp Linen by BEHR
Behr’s Crisp Linen is a beautiful warm white paint color that reminds me of the color we painted interiors within a French country house we built: BM White Sand.
Doesn’t it remind you of white sand or even pale limestone with its sandy brown undertones?

Psst. We pause for these reminders:

PPG Delicate White
Here’s a beautiful white that feels like a billowy cloud.
Do you love how it is working with all the naked wood?
And wasn’t it genius to paint the ceiling rafters for a loftier look and feel?
Oh, white painted beadboard, I can’t quit you! In another project, Leanne painted walls Delicate Walls in a dining room:
Doesn’t it help to see the same color used in entirely different rooms and lighting conditions? Here it is in Leanne Ford’s Kardell project:
But we need just a bit more beaded board…
PPG Sugar Soap
Here’s a warm white that reminds me of BM Linen White and seems best suited for older homes where you want to keep things very traditional and nostalgic.
How do you feel about the age this color lends?
Sugar Soap is a pale, shaded, off-white with a red undertone. It is used quite unconventionally by Leanne who combined it with Delicate White and Black Magic.
What do you think of those stairs!?!

You can’t go wrong with Leanne’s white paint color suggestions!! I did and have been sooooo happy with them! I didn’t use any of the ones suggested here but I love these also!… especially cameo white (that would be so lovely for your kitchen walls like you said against white cabinets …subtle contrast is my fav) & crisp linen! I lean towards the warmer whites, but not as crazy about Sugar Soap for some reason?!? Love the boucle swivel chair for the cozy factor & the Easter eggs in one basket quote😆Hope you have a wonderful wkend…yay it’s Friday!

I’m gonna try some different whites in the kitchen this weekend because it’s time to make those decisions! I’m leaning toward those cool, greyed, off whites for cabinets, and I may even opt for light grey on cabinets with brighter white on walls. I am not a fan of Sugar Soap either. It feels old fashioned in a bad way for me, and yellow just depresses the heck out of me. I have never enjoyed spending time in yellow rooms. I painted the bath in our very first 1920s era home a bright yellow to emulate sunshine, and brought in Swedish blue and red, but yellow is tricky. Have a wonderful weekend, Amy…mine is already off to a wonderful start. 🙂
