Closet Organization Finds & Inspiration to Bring Order shifts us (yes us…girrrrrl, I need encouragement since I am in the throes of complete and utter disorder from the move and renovation!) need to get energized to let go, declutter, and organize. A fresh year is an ideal time to take inventory and also get a handle on storage and household chaos.

Slowly Still Gets it Done
What’s different about my approach to winter decluttering and ongoing organization is that I have reached an age or maybe just a stage where I can no longer save the world in a day.
Illness and assorted struggles have taught me perseverance and the beauty of working in bursts.
Because, guess what? I’m living proof housework and home organization can get done even when you can only tackle it one non-wonderwomanlike baby step at a time.

Here’s a book to help us not so much create a perfect paradise as learn to notice the beauty of the worn and weathered.
Wisdom for Letting Go
Whether we’re talking about clinging to the material or immaterial, so much of life is about choosing what remains and what goes.
I’d love to hear your own thoughts about: closets, whether you’re a Marie Kondo type, and favorite storage options.

agree….tidiness in your home brings tidiness in yourself. would not be able to live in a mess.
I love a clutter free, clean home, so letting go of things has never been a problem for me. I don’t get sentimental about ‘things’, only people. I love to see towels, all the same colour (white), lined up neatly in my linen closet. Clothes all hung on the same hangers (white in mine & dark wood in coat closet), shoes lined up on shelves, socks folded and sorted by colours… I find holding something in my hand and asking myself, “Would I buy this today?” helps me put many a piece aside for donation. Tackling a closet, or drawer a day, makes it less of a chore. Start small, Michele. It won’t take much time out of your day, nor exhaust you, and the satisfaction you feel once complete will spark Joy, as Marie Kondo is fond of saying. Happy Decluttering!

Thank you for sharing your design wisdom, Joanna. Would I buy this today…is a great guiding question to stay on track. Here’s to sparking joy, friend. Happy weekend and happy decluttering. 🙂
Wow, so many great ideas! I’m down to going thru the last few boxes in our garage left over from mini storage while we were building! It’s been a process. So this is a timely post for me as I’m sorting thru what I’m keeping and needing to get it organized. Love all the closet ideas too!
