Luxury French Villa Living Room
In the market for a pretty Belgian linen sofa? So many folks are still timid about buying a light colored, solid-hued sofa for fear of staining and practicality. However, if you buy well, the fabric will come with a protectant to repel spills and guard the fabric.
No stains on our Belgian linen pieces that survived years with two sons and oodles of their friends. Spot cleaning does the trick, and whereas dark colors or printed patterns would hide stains, pale colors point you to the sin straight away.
French Green Paint Color
See this French Green Paint Colors story for paint color ideas if you’re charmed by the green color of the exterior shutters!
Old World Style, Stone, and Rugged Elements
What you’re seeing is the “after” of the villa’s kitchen which was renovated in 2011.
Is it smaller than what you were expecting?
Warmth and country charm reign in this lovely French kitchen with deep window sill at sink and a lovely collection of green glass bottles above refrigerator. The depth of walls can make such a significant difference in regards to the overall feel of a home.
If you are building a house and you appreciate traditional Old World style, consider the opportunity you may have at the planning stage to increase the depth between walls of a room or two. Instant age and character, and nearly impossible to accomplish after a home is built!
Do you suppose the kitchen feels dark, and how important is that to you? While it feels cozy and boasts stunning finishes everywhere, I’m not sure I would be drawn into the space with its limited natural light.
Authentic Materials With Modern Amenities in a French Kitchen
Isn’t the glass paned door a brilliant detail to increase the amount of light in the kitchen while providing additional interest?
You’ll also note open shelves as opposed to upper cabinetry. I personally love the look even though I have yet to live with open shelves in the kitchen.
What do you think about the choice of an ultra modern faucet at the farm sink? I think it would feel more at home with a modern stainless sink than this traditional fireclay one. My eye prefers a traditional bridge faucet with farm sinks like this one.
Places to Visit in Bonnieux
This charming village is home to the Musée de la Boulangerie where one may learn everything there is to know about making bread.
Care to extend your magic carpet ride to include a hyper cool tour (that’s “ee-pair-cool” with a subtle l and no dipthong in cool if you’re followin’ my Frenglish) of the best bakeries in the world? You won’t have to renew your passport or worry about unruly airline passengers when you tour them in this book that just joined my library!
What to buy while staying in the area? Olives, tapenade, cheese, herbs, spices, honey, flowers, oils, and of course, wines.
Sophisticated Serene Mood in French Villa Bedrooms
Oh the laid-back luxe and breezy effortless French style!

What Does an Authentically Timeless French Farmhouse Bathroom Look Like?
What a lot of Americans consider “rustic French farmhouse” may actually be closer to “French country.” In this bath, you don’t see anything curvy or fancy or polished or Paris-y. Plaster, straight lines, tumbled stone, and a restrained palette.
Quiet, Monastic, Minimal Bedroom
If you have ever spent the night in a very spare, monastic-like bedroom, then you know. It’s an experience. Without adornments, a hushed space ushers you into a very different sort of meditative headspace.

Beautiful French Grey Paint Color Ideas
BENJAMIN MOORE Ashley Gray is a color I painted walls in our French country kitchen at our prior home. Our kitchen received a ton of natural light from large windows which were left un-dressed, so do keep that in mind when selecting a calm color like this gray.
Here’s a wall paint color possibility for a serene or modern bathroom with a French inspired feel. BENJAMIN MOORE Revere Pewter is a paint I have used multiple times, most recently as a glaze (simply thinned with water) to transform our master bedroom furniture which formerly sported an antique white/pale yellow color.

You must be French in your former life. ..and perhaps me too. There are less countries they are so charming but
looking behind the doors I was disappointed. Most of the French people has no taste and their interior is far away from charming and beautiful….and it is not the money you need to make it tasteful. It is always shown an elite which doesn’t reflect the entire country.

I suppose we are always over-generalizing when we say “the French” or “the Americans” since there is good taste and poor taste everywhere. But I do find my sensibilities are often stereotypically French and Scandinavian since I use things until they are threadbare, appreciate antiques, love a mix of rustic and elegant, and need everything to have a function. It’s so true money can’t buy you good taste, but it sure does help!
ooh, my comment disappeared.

I think it’s here! 🙂
I LOVE THE GLOW IN THESE HISTORIC STRUCTURES. THE DAYS OF SIMPLE ELEGANT EATING HAS LEFT US WITH THE COVID-19. THE DAYS WERE WONDERFUL WHEN PEOPLE COULD GATHER WITHOUT MASKS AND RESTRICTIONS. NOW WE CAN EAT UNDER TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND INTERSECTIONS WITH ALL VEHICLES BLOWING THEIR HORNS.

Better days are in store – and it will surely be amazing to someday enjoy those simple things again. 🙂
One of my bucket list is to go to France someday, and this covid-19 push me to cancel my travel plans. It will be great if I will design my home like this so it will make me feel that I’m in France. Thank you so much!
