This time last year, I was all set to travel to Houston to tour the first ever MILIEU Showhouse. Do you subscribe!?! There’s nothing else like Milieu! However, a hot spot put a kink in our Texas vacation plans. It is one thing to see impeccable design photos and quite another to experience the spaces in person. When I peeked at the Houston real estate market before we were to depart, I noticed the Showhouse was one of several beautifully built manses with Old World style. Timeless Home Inspiration: Old World New Builds revisits exceptionally lovely newly built Houston homes on the market.

LOVED this post! So nice to see aspirational rooms/homes that we couldn’t possibly afford but get so many ideas from!

EXACTLY! That’s just what I was thinking as I perused these listings – the color stories, mix of materials, use of space…so much to note!
I completely agree with Sandra! I especially love the last house! The use of velvet throughout (especially love the green velvet dining chairs and barstools), the greenery in lovely weathered vessels inside, the open kitchen shelves filled with white and silver, unique art over the fireplaces, the outdoor plants in lovely urns…all so pleasing to the palate! I could look at this for days!

Me too! I too cannot stop staring at the green velvet – there is something so regal and sophisticated about it. And I would not likely gravitate toward it but when you see it used expertly here…goodness gracious, lovely.
WOW….luxury with a capital L!
