Country French Decor Idea No. 18
French Gray Accent Colors
In a French farmhouse near Bordeaux, Charlotte and Sky Reiss completely renovated their home and chose Farrow & Ball colors for the interiors. French Gray was chosen for trim and doors as you see in the master bath below.

Reclaimed antique terracotta tile flooring. Paint color on door: FARROW & BALL French Gray. Wall paint color: FARROW & BALL Strong White 2001.

ABOVE: FARROW & BALL French Gray. “A soothing green grey. French Gray is really much more green than grey, but characterfully flits between the two depending on the light and time of day. Taking inspiration from French design and wallpapers used in the 19th century, it creates the most relaxed of rooms. This soothing hue is perfect for exterior woodwork and a particular favourite for front doors in our matte Exterior Eggshell, or garden furniture where it sits seamlessly amongst the greenery.”
For a European inspired blue-grey hue with emphasis on the blue, try FARROW & BALL’S Parma Gray.

I am still enamored with light grey cabinets paired with creamy white ones in the kitchen.

Tranquil Wall Paint Colors
SHERWIN WILLIAMS Alabaster with its green undertones is a favorite among interior designers and works so well in understated, French Country style spaces.

Behr Quarried Limestone
While I’m not certain of the limestone color used in the entry to this grand French home below, it seems reminiscent of BEHR Quarried Limestone.

For a soothing coastal aqua color, BEHR Aqua Breeze may be a pretty option.
That said, blues are a monster to get right. I would use this hue at a reduced strength to achieve a more muted effect like the room that follows.

Farrow & Ball Middleton Pink
The bathroom walls in this bathroom below take my breath away! FARROW & BALL’s Middleton pink is a pretty one to try.

ABOVE: FARROW & BALL Middleton Pink No. 245. “A delicate pink. Our prettiest and most delicate pink was named after the discerning colourist, Catherine Middleton. This light pastel tone is fresh and uncomplicated, especially when contrasted with All White for a gently playful feel. Try pairing our Middleton Pink with Great White for a slightly cleaner urban finish.”

Love these country French ideas Michele! Those terra cotta tiles are beautiful and bring such warmth to a kitchen. From yesterday’s post I loved the chandeliers. What a great combination they’d make in a kitchen….

Adore Farrow & Ball’s Parma Gray kitchen.

Parma Gray is dreamy! Thanks for reading.
I went with stone tiles in all our bathrooms and laundry room in our home being built. We live on a mountain and I felt like it went well with that and the casual/refined rustic vibe I’m going for. However, you don’t see this as much these days it seems with all the shiny subway tile and cute patterned tiles used in bathrooms and laundry rooms. So I appreciated this post highlighting this type of tile being used. It reassures me how much I do like it…it feels very timeless to me. Plus is seems camouflages dirt better as well! ha!
