Fashion Over 50: Activewear & Comfy Spring Things is a look at spring and summery pieces which may work with your lifestyle and wardrobe. Does “active” seem inappropriate for the current shelter at home season? I guess I want to stay active and proactive and action-oriented to avoid simply withdrawing from the gifts life continues to bring to us. If you are feeling blue and are open to a spiritual perspective for coping, see THIS. I also want to spotlight small businesses on Etsy, a site dear to my heart. Consider these comfy pieces which will work both now and when daily life is less constrictive.

Believe it or not, I have not been living in pajamas since I began sheltering in place. Getting dressed and occasionally applying makeup has helped me to feel more optimistic, positive, and intentional.

My skin is loving the extra TLC and self-care (I talked about its importance as I live with chronic illness in this life hacks for daily coping ditty). I had no idea when I penned that piece about coping with chronic illness last summer that it would be relevant in a fresh way in pandemic season.

Are you getting exercise each day? I sure hope so! I am making an effort to move, walk, lift weights, and strengthen my body and immune system.
It’s still cold here (32 degrees and snow globe living as I type this) so if the weather is mild where you live – get out in it when you can. Breathe that fresh air while distancing and get your heart rate up by brisk walking if possible.

Discover new podcasts – there are so many wonderful programs! My husband’s favorites are history ones like THIS.

And I enjoy spiritual/psychological/artistic ones such as: On Being, Eternal Current, TheRobCast, Ram Dass Here and Now, and UndertheSkin.
Here’s a taste of Krista Tippett’s podcast:
Here’s a great episode of Russell Brand’s podcast where he speaks with Brene Brown:

We’re hanging in there. This is just the weirdest time ever. I can’t even describe what I’m feeling these days because I have never felt it before and “alien” and “foreign” don’t capture it. Love you right back, beautiful soul. xox
Really love so many of your choices, especially the Etsy Linen. It sure is a time to be comfortable and cosy. Funny, every morning I get up, put on my makeup and get dressed as though someone might see me. When in reality, it’s most likely only my husband who will. Guess it just makes ME feel better to still try and look my best. Crazy but I stocked up on my makeup thinking the factories might stop shipping it. Am I nuts? Now I have to figure out how to dye my own hair!

We are all nuts! I am thinking these same things about makeup and raspberry jam and…I don’t want to admit how much I shelled out for a supply of acai sorbet (the way I have been keeping aloha spirit alive since our return!). Sending you smiles, laughter, and love.
