Why do we consistently wait until February to spotlight the riches of LOVE CITY? Bless our hearts, there is never a day we shouldn’t be living lavishly and abundantly within it! Pin all of the Valentine’s lovely quotes you like and spread this good news: despite the uncertainty, despite the forecast, LOVE IS ALIVE!
Valentine’s LOVELY QUOTES & Hearts
I am not someone who uses the expression ‘bless her heart.’ I grew up hearing it repeated by Southern aunts, cousins, and grandmothers. I understood it as code for poor girl has zero clue she is doomed, and we feel strangely superior. Depending on your perspective, I turned out less self-confident or less interested in passive aggression.

Psst. You didn’t ask for it, but here’s a quick easy danish to make with crescent roll dough for Valentine’s Day or any day:
By the way, if for a variety of reasons your heart is not stuffed full with sweetness or hope, YOU REMAIN LOVELY and CREATED PERFECTLY TO BE LOVED.
Are we rough around the edges, filled with despair, or ever limping with imperfection? We are not cursed. The divine blessing remains: in our uniqueness, we were created perfectly to be loved and to become love’s messengers.

One of the many miracles of love is that it flows in spite of obstacles, harm, and doubt. (The Judds gorgeously harmonized “love will build a bridge,” but let’s not forget love’s quantum nature: it can mysteriously shapeshift to meet us everywhere, anywhere, and especially right where we are.)

Sweet Finds
I’m not a big fan of wearing floral fragrance, but the gourmand variety? Sweet.

Just a reminder:

Easy Heart Cake With No Special Pan Required
I shared this more than a decade ago, and even though most serious bakers own a heart pan, it is a hack to know if you only bake a heart annually:

When your nose is this shape, you are destined to be adored for all time.

What a doll!

Do you make your own candles? It’s easy! Keep your eyes peeled for heart shaped vessels you can use to create something like this.

If you’re fortunate enough to have antique versions of these milagro hearts…score! But the replicas are pretty swell, and I love mine.
You can write a special love note or tuck a photo inside…

I always like the idea of baking teeny cookies.

But let’s face it, I’ll be eating handfuls of them anyway!

Touches of Sweet Pink
February is just right for dreaming of spring, and little touches of pink sprinkled around help midwinter blues.

Such sophisticated simplicity from Pamela Pierce.

And Jill Egan in MILIEU!

Sweet Blast from the Past

I know Valentine’s season is often a commercialized mixed bag of fluff. But I hope the realness of real Love will draw near as the noble teacher you deserve.

On Beauty & Love
It’s worth a listen. To read more from the late John O’Donohue, there’s also THIS.
Peace to you right where you are.
