We had a few days of snowy winter wonderland, and while it looks pretty, my health sure doesn’t. Shifts in temperature, pressures, and even humidity are creating chaos for my illness. Last night was one for the books, and in a sense, I’m in survival mode as I count down the days to get out of the Midwest. So YES. A summer-themed summer celebration inspiration post is mostly about me today. While it may seem wayyyyy to early for 4th of July decorations and summer tablescapes, folks on Pinterest are saving pins this minute! I hope this Americana tribute to red, white and blue (no matter how many mixed feelings you hold regarding America today).

How Not to Stress About a Red, White & Blue Table
It’s always those simple tablescapes I like best! Inspired By This (below) proves anxiety is optional when you entertain with their tips.

White flowers, a blue striped runner, and fresh berries combine for a lovely yet easy formula for the table!

I don’t know about you, but I crazy unskilled at assembling layer cakes. But when I see this naked cake (above) I am filled with hope. Let us not forget we can simplify/deconstruct a store-bought layer cake or transform it into a beauty like the one above.

Isn’t this a cute way to tie up flatware at each placesetting?

Easy Showstopping Dessert
I love this idea, and you’ll want to visit It’s Always Autumn to watch the video to see how this easy sugar cookie pizza cheesecake deliciousness is assembled!
Mouth is watering!
Sweet American Flag Plates
Don’t you love the nostalgia of glassware like this!?! I remember drinking iced tea in those in the 70s!

The round woven placemats keep the scheme elevated yet understated and not overwhelmingly colorful.

Here’s an idea for flag plates if you need them:
Handmade Little Flags
Aren’t these flags a sweet touch?

I love the simplicity of the little blue gingham and red stripe fabric casually tied to the flags.

This little flag mugs are darling too:
Galvanized Chargers with Flag
I love this casual look and was disappointed when Pottery Barn discontinued these galvanized chargers:
However, it’s a simple enough DIY.

So to get this look:

Start with browsing flag and star stencils as well as…
plain galvanized chargers:

There’s definitely a pattern emerging in all these ideas: layering plates for each placesetting, gingham accents, and striped table runners.
Red, White & Blue Summer Entertaining Inspiration
Blue hydrangea are so perfect in a rustic wood box for a long centerpiece:

Even faux would work if you can’t find the fresh.

Blue & White China Layered With Small Flag
It truly is all about the color story on the 4th of July. Blue and white china looks so great with a simple little flag at each placesetting.
These would be so pretty with a flag or red napkin on top:
They are very “Coastal Grandmother” friendly, yes?

The chambray embroidered table throw is gorgeous too for all summer long:
You could also tuck a little flag inside a napkin ring:
Isn’t this a stunning combination?
If you love traditional style, you may be a collector of blue and white porcelain vases, urns, and ginger jars. What a great occasion to bring them out!
Nostalgia & American Red, White and Blue
This assemblage is a call to collect red, white, and blue vintage all through the year and gather it for seasonal decor in July.
Do those containers bring back memories?

Classic 4th of July Placemats
You could always stencil a flag (see the flag stencils above) on these too:
The color of the lobster is festive as well!
These woven pieces will never fall from favor and can be brought into service all summer long.

Let’s face it – many of us don’t pull out the red, white, and blue for our tables. My own table is more likely to resemble this:
