Divine Sophisticated Simplicity
There’s always the temptation to refer to a beautiful kitchen design like Finding Lovely’s as ‘simple in its rustic elegance.’ Yet I hasten to introduce the adjective ‘simple!’
As a real life renovator of kitchens, I happen to know there is certainly nothing SIMPLE about the dozens of invisible details, labor by artisans, and tears of frustration before the reveal. However, when the end result feels as timeless, tranquil, and effortless as this kitchen…it’s easy to be swept up in divine simplicity!
Custom Window Nook
Isn’t this custom window nook, framed with reclaimed barnwood extra special!?!
What an incredible way to: elevate the everyday chores that center around the kitchen sink, enhance the view outdoors, and add the warmth of wood to a white kitchen. (I mean, it feels like a white kitchen…no white kitchen cabinets yet plenty of white kitchen ideas here!)

Sweetest French Doors
The range and hood make a statement with the white tile backsplash and are sweet relief from stainless steel appliances.
Handmade Tile Backsplash
If you’re looking for a way to add subtle textures to your kitchen, a backsplash tile that is tumbled or handmade is a savvy choice. Beyond trends, a subway tile that is handmade like this one will still look relevant decades from now and works in a modern kitchen as well as traditional kitchens.
Here’s the tile going up on the wall.

The designer customized that pendant chandelier with rope, and it is certainly one of a kind now!
Casually Rustic Decor Accents
Unfussy, Undressed Windows
What a focal point this cozy niche is with grey kitchen cabinets, rugged wood beams on ceiling (so much warmth!), mini pendant lamp, and abundant natural lighting.

Spectacular Custom Icebox
Located inside this incredibly crafted cabinet resembling an icebox (with the loveliest distressed finish) are two modern 24″ Subzero refrigerators.
The light grey lower cabinets, minimal uppers, and pendant lamps help this white kitchen design feel anything but sterile or chilly!
Subdued Cement Tiles Accenting Breakfast Bar
This gorgeous tile accent on the kitchen island has a hint of cream, gray tones, and an energetic pattern adding depth and interest to this kitchen space.
Calacatta Look Countertop
Sometimes you want the look of a marble countertop without any of the maintenance or stain worries. This solid surface has a modern look with its simple edge detail.

Can you tell me the source for the french doors please?

Hello, can you please share details on the tile? This kitchen is gorgeous!

Here’s what I found from Finding Lovely’s project: “The backsplash tile is a white handmade subway tile that we got from Tiles Plus More in Natick. This particular one is by Advance Ceramics and is made in Spain.” Hope this helps!

Hi, Beautiful kitchen!! I was wondering where to get the range hood? That was the only thing I couldn’t find listed anywhere. Thanks!
Author
Thanks for visiting! Pretty sure the hood, like the rest of the cabinetry was custom and through JD Millwork in Ashland. 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Good morning, Michele – I so look forward to reading your blog daily. It’s food for my soul. On a more mundane note, I am working on my kitchen and want to replace my laminate countertops with quartz. I would like to find someone who will do the plumbing for the sink. I live in the Schaumburg, Il area. I don’t know if you make recommendations or know of a business that would replace my countertops. Thanks, Michele – keep up the care and feeding of so many of us!

Hi there, friend. Sounds like you need a kitchen designer, and you could start with a local firm or even head over to Lowes/Home Depot. I have worked with kitchen designers at those stores and been pleased, and of course, you need to be matched up with someone who will listen closely and who is caring. I would start by looking at samples of quartz, and sometimes the next step is visiting a warehouse to see the whole slab. You’ll want to decide on the sink choice too. Then when you make your decisions, your counters will be measured and the counters will be fabricated. A kitchen designer will be able to advise you as to the order of things, who can install the sink, and coordinate the details. Hope this helps.
Hi Michelle,
What a lovely kitchen! Love the grey and white combo.
May I ask what color the wood trim is? and the paint for the door?
Thank you so much.
Author
Pretty sure the trim and door color is Chantilly Lace like the walls.
