New England Farmhouse With Timelessly Classic Interiors is inspiration from a beautiful New Canaan, Connecticut home with eclectic yet classic country style. Oh, the kitchen! One of my all-time favorites for its timeless, gorgeous, luxurious yet livable appeal. After a complete renovation, this Colonial style house did double duty as a showroom and one time residence of the president of One Kings Lane before it sold to a lucky new owner a few months ago. All of the furnishings and lighting you see were sourced at OKL. (Psst…if you have not shopped OKL lately, be prepared to be inspired and delighted.)

What a gorgeous entry with all the slate.

Crazy about how the mix of textures here with the sumptuous upholstery, rugged slate, modern wallpaper and smooth polished marble lamp.

The view through a Dutch door!

Sun Drenched Family Room
Do you like the mix of patterns and fabrics in here?

I love how the rug anchors the space and includes all of the colors in the mix.

This lampshade is a favorite!

Colonial Style With a Modern Twist
Those heat resistant stone fire spheres give this fireplace a very now look.

Soft Blue Accents in a White Country Kitchen
This use of blue is amazing with all of the warmth throughout this timeless kitchen.

I thought this was an interesting juxtaposition…
And isn’t the cabinet hardware incredible?

One island is or work station is great, but why not add a second if there’s room?

Modern Farmhouse Dining Room Inspiration
So much delicious geometry in here. Just look at all of the various shapes represented in lighting, mirror, art, and furnishings!

Blue stripes under the table are just darling!

More stripes in this sunny hall.

Do you have a spot in your own home where a similar arrangement makes sense?

Don’t yo ulove the tassel on the gorgeous chest?

The rustic bench feels so unexpected under the traditional wall decor.

Grasscloth Covered Ceiling
We tend to forget about the fifth wall, and as a DIYer, oy oy oy for installation, but ooh la la when the result looks like this.

Instant Library Idea
This vignette is a reminder that we can create a library almost anywhere with stacks of books and a lamp or two.

Warm Putty Painted Trim
While you might expect to see crisp white painted trim in a modern farmhouse design, this combination feels very vintage and European inspired.

Paint Color Ideas
I’ll share ideas for paint colors in a separate post. The colors seem reminiscent of English or European country homes so Farrow & Ball is an excellent source for such a palette. If you love English country style, make sure to see this home tour!

Peace to you right where you are.
