By the time you read this, I will likely be in a panic, hotflashing, and ripping through boxes trying to locate a proper pair of shoes for a bridal shower. Goodness gracious, don’t ever try to have a life or look like a civilized human being if you are a DIYing weekend warrior in the throes of a move and house remodel! What will I be wearing? Chances are, it’ll be blue. Fashion Over 50: Comfy Unfussy Neutrals & Blue is a collection of pretty finds (most under $100) that may be perfect for spring break or a warm weather getaway. (Please, universe, I am thinking a vacay soon and am ready for Spring!) After white, blue is my favorite hue to wear and always what gets packed in the suitcase for any vacay.

In My Bag For a Laid Back Vacation
Packing for vacation has been easy in recent years since it is all about casual hikes and no fancy schmancy. In 2020, we traveled to Oahu’s North Shore (my happy place) to hang with Honu (my favorite green sea turtle creatures), hang loose, soak up oceanic magic, and heal from the stress of work life.
I carry on a backpack like this:
This blousy swim top can be worn off the beach easily…
and I can’t say enough about Athleta’s swim shorts – here’s the style I wear (and I own probably four colors).
Find more ideas for pieces that can be worn multiple times for an un-fancy getaway.
How Fast Can I Add These to My Cart!?!
Dress ‘Em Up or Down
I love the versatility of a long skirt which works as well with a funky t-shirt as it does with a silk blouse.
Joggers & Sweats
This style can be flattering on so many different body types…think I need every color!
Just One Pair of Sandals
I wear comfy sneakers on the plane and pack just one pair of comfy wedge sandals plus flip flops (which are known as ‘slippers’ in Hawaii).
For a Laid Back Vacay
I can’t live without beachy denim shorts!
Even though I brought along my favorite one-piece swim dress, I never wore it. There is no law that mandates you wear only granny suits after a certain age. I’m comfy in bikini tops and boyish swim shorts.
