Packing for vacation is easy for me these days. It’s all about casual hikes and no minimal formality. On our last trip to Oahu’s North Shore (my happy place) where I hang out as much as possible with Honu (my favorite green sea turtle creatures), soak up the ocean’s magic, and recover from the stress of work life, I packed everything I needed in a very small checked bag and a carry-on like this:

I love the versatility of a long skirt which works as well with a funky t-shirt as it does with a silk blouse.

This style can be flattering on so many different body types…think I need every color!

Just One Pair of Sandals

I wear comfy sneakers on the plane and pack just one pair of comfy wedge sandals plus flip flops (which are known as ‘slippers’ in Hawaii).

For a Laid Back Vacay

I can’t live without beachy denim shorts!

Swim Stuff

Even though I brought along my favorite one-piece swim dress, I never wore it. There is no law that mandates you wear only granny suits after a certain age. I’m comfy in bikini tops and boyish swim shorts.
