If classic design with a creative twist and California cool appeals, you’ll admire the work of AR Interiors founder Anna Rosemann. After a highly successful career staging dream homes, she now demystifies the design process for clients presenting a range of requests. Sometimes it’s simply rearranging furniture and choosing finishes in a residence, and sometimes it’s designing a 12-foot high dollhouse inside the headquarters of a luxury fashion brand (for the children of lucky humans who work there!). But for today, she’s all ours. Spilling the tea and sharing lovely Design Secrets.
Design Secrets from Anna Rosemann of AR Interiors
About that showroom/headquarters she designed with Grayson in LA…
I mean, inside, the shiplap is THE SHIP, and even though it’s for the littles…
I’d love to spend time in the thoughtfully designed, functional, living dollhouse inside.
Right!?! Bravo, you superpowerful creatives blurring the line between work and play.
Let’s get to dishing with Anna Rosemann. And let’s start with the most popular question asked of Hello Lovely:

Is Staging a Home Different in Post-Pandemic Times?
The process is the same, but there are more staging companies in the game now than when I first started. 15 years ago, there were two companies, and today, there are ten. Even with more competition, only three to five offer high-end, luxury furniture.
Rosemann isn’t just speculating about staging. She mastered her technique at the high-end staging company, DTM Interiors, where she worked for years on multi-million dollar projects.
When she launched AR Interiors, her mission was to make high-end interiors accessible to a variety of markets. For example, this dining room’s “before” looks like a lot of dull dining rooms one sees:
Wow! And to see the effect of removing dark furniture and rugs to make a space appear light and lofty:
Sometimes it’s all about geometry, grace, and mirrors…which are what Rosemann brought to this Modern French dining room makeover:

Trends You See in Kitchen Design?
White oak cabinets with textured ceramic tile.
Can’t decide between stained wood cabinets or white? This designer would tell us we don’t have to!
Wait. What?
If you watch HGTV’s Forever Home (Property Brothers), you may have seen Anna’s work in episode 504. A memorable Scandi-style kitchen with both wood grain and white cabinets transformed this young family’s home.
Is “Modern Farmhouse” as a Style Trend Going Away?
I do think people are going about 80% modern and 20% farmhouse these days. It’s a style that has clean lines but still has small bits of farmhouse. Whereas, when the trend first started, it leaned way more toward farmhouse and less modern.
YES! I agree and am happy that one-note interiors, way too heavy on the rustic, are evolving into more pleasingly layered and balanced spaces.
Thank you so much for sharing the inside scoop with us today, Anna. Would love to welcome you back since we have so many more questions for you…like what’s your creative process like? What fuels it, and does this quote ring true?
