Correction: the photo captioned “Bright white living space painted Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace by Jacquelyn Clark ” is actually Benjamin Moore White Dove and is by Laine & Layne, not Jacquelyn Clark.

Thank you kindly for this correction – I appreciate it. my apologies to the designer and readers…made those edits.

I am between chantilly lace and extra white but I am wondering what is typically used for trim?
Author
Both of those whites are great options. The most popular white for trim among designers is BM White Dove. Extra White is going to be a brighter and cooler white than Chantilly Lace. You could think about its relationship with the wall color: want the trim to have more or less contrast? For example, if your walls are tan, a brighter white will have more contrast than an off white or a warm white.
Beautiful! In the first photo of the entryway, is the wall color the same as the trim?
Author
Great question! I can see exactly why you asked. The wall color looks as though it has a blue cast even though YES, it is painted the same color as the trim: SW Extra White. The reason it looks like there is contrast is twofold: the light exposure in the room and the different sheen. I believe an oil based paint was used on trim for easier maintenance.
