Since this project has my name written all over it, I felt compelled to dig deeper, and I hope you’ll be thrilled to learn the particulars graciously shared by the designer..

Should you decide to become the new owner of this award-winning lakefront home located in South Carolina, pretty please let Sotheby’s know you saw it here! (And invite me for a visit, yes?)
Why I Knew You’d Love It
If you love a classic cottage, slightly beachy, mostly white with blue accents, minimal modern farmhouse-y kind of vibe, then today’s house tour is bound TO ROCK YER WORLD!

Here’s a snippet from the real estate listing: “Expertly sited to take advantage of the views of lake, park and conservation area, this charming compound was created with special attention to all details…A separate carriage house includes a second floor bunk room, kitchenette, and a deck overlooking the lake.”

I am intrigued by the idea of three separate small structures adding up to 3,000 square feet, aren’t you?
You can live in the main cottage in the middle, allow your adult children or aging parents to reside in the guest cottage, and still have the carriage house for guests! The project proves you truly can create a masterful private enclave with just one half of an acre.

What’s the Wite Paint Color Inside & Out?
Benjamin Moore “White” is the color the designer painted all the interiors and exteriors, and this is the color I painted all of our interiors in my own home.

What really strikes me is the wonderful non-cluttered appeal of this house and the guest house. It is a place that one can truly be released from the stresses of the day and “just be”.
I know, some people might say “Too much white! It’s boring!” (That’s what two of my sisters and mother would say verbatim..haha!) But to me, the fact that the interior is all one shade of white, makes the lines all disappear and makes for a wide-open spaces feel, a space where I can breathe. There is a lot of texture brought in via shiplap, wooden floors (and some accent areas) etc. that is just right. 🙂
I imagine this is close to how I’d decorate a home if I lived near some coast….but honestly it is a look that can transcend any location and be gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing!

Such an eloquent description of the beauty of living with and loving white interiors. I agree that this look has a timelessness that transcends design genres, and I suppose that is why it resonates with me too as someone who avoids trends. Thanks for reading and all the thoughtful commentary. 🙂
I didn’t want the tour to end! So enjoyable, as always!

I am trying to decorate my house in a similar style, but on a budget. Any suggestions on where or what to look for.
Author
Absolutely! I have tons of suggestions and need to create a post since I’m sure there are plenty of others with the same desire…stay tuned. In the mean time, notice how the windows are airy and bare? Where you don’t have to have privacy, think about subtracting window coverings. The coffee table in this great room is pricey, but you could score one at the antique mall and paint it with white chalk paint for a similar look. Slipcovers get expensive, but if you can hunt down a big piece of fabric (white denim, linen, or other), you can cover your sofa with it to see how you like living with white. Who knows? Sometimes a lazy slip like this can work indefinitely since it simply gets tossed in the wash. The point is to make it look effortless. To begin, clear the room and only bring back the essentials. I have a post about no cost decorating here: https://www.hellolovelystudio.com/2019/04/how-to-decorate-chic-yet-cheap-9-no-cost-ideas.html
Does anyone know the brick that was used on the front porch?
Author
You could message the wonderful designer, Lisa Furey on instagram. 🙂
did you find out the name of the brick? I love it, and would like to use something similar to this.

You may be able to get more specifics from the designer Lisa Furey since she owns the home – she is here: https://www.instagram.com/lisafureyinteriors/
Any chance of getting the house plan? Or where can it be found? Custom? Your interior design is lovely❤️
Author
Hi Traci. The interior design is by Lisa Furey, and since it’s a custom home – I doubt the plan would be shared. This home was on the market at one time so reach out to the designer on her site or IG to inquire about any specifics. Thanks for reading. 🙂
Where can I buy the blue with orange piping bed coverlets and shams and bolster pillow?
