p.s. Not all of these images depict a true farmhouse and may in fact originate in a chateau, bastide, or a country manor. However, forgive madame for zee stretching of limits of “farmhouse” (Google still rules!) for zee sake of simplicité.
For example, here is one of my favorite designers (Desiree of Beljar Home) giving a casual tour of her beautiful home!

A highlight of my Interior Design career was traveling to France to help renovate a very old farm building, (could it have been 700?) into a Gite used for vacationers. This building had been used as an apartment for farm hands many years before, and lastly a barn for sheep. It was an amazing project and I left a part of my heart in the Limousine region of France. Your post brought back wonderful memories.
One photograph that caught my attention was the old stone wash basin fitted with an ultra modern faucet. A perfect juxtaposition of the old and new that seemed like a perfect fit. I don’t fancy chandeliers of any kind, so I gave them a miss. But I did love the headboards. Very simple, elegant and very French!
Incroyable Idées de Décoration intérieure .
