2. Wreath on a Vintage Frame

This is a super easy DIY that requires a thrifted pretty frame, black paint, a wreath and a ribbon. After painting the canvas or board black, hand-letter or stencil “merry christmas” before hammering a nail to the frame for your wreath and ribbon.

5. Pink Candy House

My little wonky pink candy house looks as though it was created by a 5-year old because I am wired for words, not house building. But. I hope my silly attempt gives you the confidence boost you need to create a lovely one!

Buy one of those gingerbread house kits and use sticks of pink gum as siding. I used store-bought royal icing for the mortar and stripey candy sticks for the roof.

me: I beg your pardon.

Gather your Materials: step stool, ribbons, duct tape, fresh or faux wreaths.

Instructions: Wing it, kittycats.

8. Sweet Signage for a Porch

For this sign which I move around the garden and display all year round, I used a salvaged piece of laminate flooring. Charcoal/Soft Black chalk paint has incredibly stood up to the elements in my woodsy habitat where “polar vortex” is a cruel reality. A friend hand-lettered the sentiment for me, but even an amateurish attempt would be charming.

Mysterious Bonus DIY Christmas Card

No idea how I stumbled on this tutorial for handmade Christmas card crafting. Also no idea why one would want to break out their iron and plastic wrap instead of a spray adhesive or glue stick. Additionally, no idea why one chooses not to buy from the vast array of inexpensive ready-made holiday cards. All of those mysteries aside, I couldn’t stop watching because it is strangely relaxing. Are you as nutty as I am? Let me know what you think.

Thanks so much for playing along today, friends. Make sure to visit this story with Fall DIY projects if you feel like smacking me for posting holiday goodness too soon!

Peace to you right where you are.

Thanks so much – I am ready to get crafting more of these and maybe even using pom pom makers since I have always made them the old fashioned way with cardboard! Granny from the 70s here! 🙂

    Michele,
I love pom pom wreaths but have not made one yet. I am now, you have inspired me. I love all of the Christmas ideas. I know it is coming fast. My favorite things was your sign that buying craft supplies and actually using them are two different hobbies. That is me to the tee.

Oh, that pretty wreath on a vintage frame stole my heart, but your little candy house is so adorable and happy too. I loved everything here. I completely agree that buying craft supplies and actually using them are 2 completely different hobbies! Thanks for sharing with us at TFT! I hope you are feeling well today!

Hahahaha – I’m so thankful for you taking the time to visit here, Pam. It’s always a treat to have you. I really want to reform my crafting ways and have been donating supplies to whittle down the excess and HOPEFULLY begin USING what is left to create. Yesterday was good and today has been great as I stick to my diet (which is so hard with so many yummy things to bake!). See you at TFT tomorrow. 🙂

So glad to hear you’re having some good health days! I have been trying to whittle down the excess craft supplies too, but it’s slow going… I’m featuring this post on TFT today! Have a great day!

Hahahaha. So many supplies! Two good days in a row this week – so I’ll take them and try to eat safe to keep it that way. Gaining back the weight puts my mind at ease so that makes a big difference. Thank you for the feature, Pam!!!

I SO want to make a pom-pom wreath this year. But more importantly, Michele, where did the ‘dead’ pointe shoes come from (only dancers and ballet moms would understand that phrase! 😉 ) They look really ‘cool’ next to the wreath! So blessed to have you at TTA this week! Hope to see you tomorrow, too!

Hahaha – I never did pointe and was not flexible enough for ballet so the slippers are collected. Thanks so much for reading, Julie. 🙂
