Love this Urban Farmgirl shop Michele! What a treasure to have in your area! I’m glad to see that Mustard accents are in style because we just painted our front door that color! It does look great with white brick and black shutters. I love the farm animal art too, very cool!
I grew up in an honest to goodness real farmhouse which was ca 1914. Oh to have had the beauty and lightness this “American Country Farmhouse” style depicts would have been truly lovely! Everything back in my day in our home, and most of my friends’ country farmhouses, was dark and dreary. And of course anything galvanized was usually pails and feeders for chickens, pigs, cows. LOL!
I think those dark/dreary beginnings were the start of my life long desire to have as much lightness as possible in my own home. 😉 It’s nice that today we can incorporate some of the good things from a bygone era with more modern things too.
And ooooh if we’d have had cute outfits like the one you’re wearing! What a dream that would have been. 😀
I’d love to hear more about your life in an authentic old farmhouse – fascinating. I wonder how the dark and dreary formed a backdrop for your memories too. Is that what we are in essence doing with our light, bright, and white airy interiors – attempting to give our spirits a happy lift and our memories a billowy curtain? I have more galvanized pails than I can say, and I actually use them outdoors! xox
Good morning Michele, I am in love with everything in this shop! So many beautiful pieces and of course inspiration!
