What a treat to be welcomed to this designer’s personal home (if only in the cyber sense!) for lessons in beautiful, organic, Cali-charming Christmas magic! Rustic Luxe & Bohemian Christmas Decor Ideas are all inspired by the talents of Cindy Hattersley, whose holiday decor I have admired for years now.
Rustic Luxe & Bohemian Christmas Decor Ideas
You can’t miss the way this designer layers on lovely in a uniquely natural and fresh way that never feels contrived. The holiday decorations she chooses work seamlessly with her existing decor as opposed to feeling tacked on temporarily. This lovely seamlessness is accomplished with the use of toned down, less saturated, warm reds and greens, with plenty of cozy neutrals grounding the vignettes. But she’s no one trick pony. Wait until you see how she combines vibrant electric color for a shockingly festive Bohemian tablescape!
Her collection of rustic baskets and weathered shutters throughout her lovely home provide rugged tension in her character-rich vignettes. Nothing feels too precious or fanciful which keeps everything feeling accessible and ever authentic.
Every single one of these images seems to radiate with a natural glow, not unlike gentle candlelight. Surely the beautiful California sunshine and landscape are a profound influence and inspire romantic gestures.
Let’s tour Cindy’s holiday home in recent years.
1. Bright Red is Optional
But it also works when Cindy uses red for Christmas decor!
2. Rustic Baskets
3. Natural Garlands
4. Whimsy von Whimsy!
5. Weathered Finishes
6. A Light Touch
7. Warmer Reds With Electric Greens

10. Tone on Tone
11. Laid Back Simplicity

13. Seamless Adornment

Classic Yet Fresh Warmth Like Cindy’s Style
Treat yourself to this musical treat!
I love the warmth and purity of Lauren Daigle’s vocals!
Thanks for all of the sweet words about this photo I shared with you the other day – my sister Jo took it when we stopped by Urban Farmgirl on Black Friday. There were no fistfights over sale items, no rushing, no blood pressures or stress rising…just Christmas cheer.
We will definitely return and get photos snapped of us on the tailgate together!
Wishing you the natural warmth of the season’s dawning
and
Peace to you right where you are.

Thank you for sharing these ideas, Cindy. The quality of our photography has improved over the years for sure (don’t go digging in my archives from 2010!!!) but your lovely decor shines through any low resolution photos! You have such an amazing eye and way with natural elements! xox

Would love to see a shared YouTube of one of James Taylor’s Christmas songs. 🙂 Maybe “Who Comes This Night”. A truly lovely Christmas song sung by a classic song-stylist….
Oh what lovely images this morning in your post! So many ideas to ponder! So many lovelies!
Cindy certainly has a knack for the holidays – well….everydays! Thank you for sharing her gift for making her lovely California style.

That Cali style is so refreshing to see amidst a lot of really undesirable glitzy stuff I see elsewhere! Thanks for reading, friend. xox
