I am so glad I stumbled upon an image online of a model wearing super cute Warby Parker frames because I needed the nudge to make an appointment with the optometrist and invest in new glasses.

I am long overdue and can’t believe how many lovely options exist when you look beyond the brick and mortar optical shop…have you tried a service like Warby Parker where they send frames to try at home for free?
Trying them on at home makes a lot of sense and is far more convenient than dragging your partner or bestie with you to your eye appointment for help choosing a flattering pair. Since the frames come to you, it’s tres easy to get a girlfriend’s opinion and help. (I didn’t drag anyone with me on my last visit and unfortunately did not leave with the best frames for my face shape…lesson learned.)
Also on the topic of glasses.
Ever see messages floating around “comforting” girls about wearing glasses? Messages like, ‘we’re not nerdy, we’re intellectual bada$$es?’ Do you feel like bada$$-itude, or being uncompromisingly tough is helpful to you on your journey right now? Because just the thought of bada$$striving as a writer, parent, DIYer, artist, gardener, baker…and wearer of spectacles feels exhausting. (Images of a bada$$ blonde wearing Enjoli frying up bacon in a pan aren’t comforting either.) Pretty please, may I be a bada$$ at napping and noticing the trotting habits of turkeys in my woods? May I practice uncompromising vulnerability to enjoy emotional wealth and an awakened soul?
Wait…is vulnerability the new bada$$?
*end of random rant*
Here are my 3 favorite frames from Warby Parker’s Fall 2017 collection, and I’d love to hear your opinion about these options and helpful tips you may have for snagging flattering frames…maybe you’ll want to take Warby Parker for a spin yourself!
