Gallery of Beautiful Blue Kitchens (Paint Colors + Ideas)
Kitchens with Blue Painted Cabinets
Changing the color of your existing colors can be transformative, and since paint is relatively inexpensive, if you do it yourself, the payoff is huge.

If you have a kitchen island or work table in your kitchen, it can be a great place to start if you’re toying with the idea of painting all of the cabinetry.

You can even live with the painted island to watch how the color changes throughout the day and how it makes you feel.
If it’s not quite right, tweak the color until you arrive at the perfect blue for your cabinets.

The amount of light your kitchen receives and the other design elements (hardwood flooring, ceramic tile, backsplash, countertops) in the space should be considered of course when you’re choosing a shade of blue.
If you love bold color, go for it! The possibilities truly are endless. And if you haven’t already been making mental notes of it, make sure you expand photos in this post to see the different hardware possibilities and how they work with blue cabinets.
Warm gold tones are so beautiful with cool blue!

It can be surprising to see a paint swatch that doesn’t resemble the kitchen in the photo (see above), but lighting conditions and photography edits are influences.
To my eye, SW Distance seems more similar to the blue in the actual photo above.

Blue Backsplash Ideas
Kitchen backsplashes add so much function and beauty to the everyday.
But knowing where to begin when choosing one can be daunting.

Make sure you have a design direction that is guiding all of your choices. The subway backsplash below works well with the modern farmhouse aesthetic and a casual, country, no fuss approach.

The handmade tile backsplash above feels coastal, country, and timeless as well.
A decorative tile range backsplash is also a possibility (and look at those blue knobs on the range!).

The color above reminds me of Farrow & Ball Parma Gray:
If you fall in love with a particular blue tile and you plan to customize your cabinets with paint, choosing a paint color becomes an easier chore! (What you probably want to avoid is getting stuck trying to find the proper blue for existing blue cabinets – that can be a challenge.)
Where you might expect plain ol’ white subway tiles, the above backsplash is a gorgeous powdery blue moment.

Prettiest French Blue Kitchens
This is one of my all-time favorite kitchens, and that blue range would make me happy every single day!

Here’s another timeless French kitchen that was completely renovated in a Provence chateau.
It really is proof that coppery tones are simply magic with light blue!

Bear in mind, you’ll want to sample a paint color for your project. Photography edits, time of day, and other factors influence how colors appear in photos and on your screen. The kitchen below also features cabinets painted F&B Light Blue:

In some photos, the light blue appears very gray, but this has not been my experience with this particular paint color. In my own space when I sampled it, the color appeared more green than blue.

As you can see, a French country kitchen can have many iterations! Modern French, country French, French farmhouse, and French Provincial are all possibilities, and it’s more than okay to come up with your own interpretation. However, kitchens are a lot of work, and you should work with a designer on your vision if you are making major changes.

Partnering with a professional is always going to save future headaches and expense in the long term!

Brass Hardware With Blue
In case you need proof that warm metals, gold tones, and brass work swimmingly with blue…

Right? And the checks on the floor!
How Does Blue Make us Feel?
According to color psychology, blue suggests peace. “It’s the color of the calm sea and the clear sky, both of which are linked to inner serenity, calm and clarity. Blue was also shown to slow heart rate and breathing, so it can be a good color to aid in meditation or relaxation.”
Blue inspires trust, it is non-threatening and shows persistence. Non-threatening? It is known as an unemotional color–even aloof or snobbish according to color experts.

There are various more personal associations we have with color as well.

Associated with intelligence, blue can be associated with being rational and lacking passion.

However, blue reminds me of the ocean and summer skies. It not only feels straight out of nature, it stirs up romance too if you ask me! I hope this gallery helps you narrow down blue tones you love and inspires your next project. Make sure to start HERE for the remainder of blue kitchens in the gallery.
Peace to you right where you are.
