Have any set traditions in your family for Mother’s Day? For years, ours was brunch (Swedish pancakes and breakfast casserole) before a full day of gardening. The tradition kicked off probably-safe-from-frost season. Bougie restaurants have lost their charm where I’m happy-scrappy with a restricted diet. (Also, can we talk about the effort required these days to get the glam ON? Even more tiresome than garden spruceups.) Get me closer to the earth and truck in yards of mulch, s’il vous plait. Let the labors of love with my three men commence under the big sky in the light of my wide smile.
