Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are relaxing and feasting and settled in a spirit of thankfulness right where you are. In a season where most media would have us believe we must rush to this sale, deck the halls with THIS, fill our homes with party-ready THAT and serve fancy food, I wish you…peace, tenderness, and an open heart to receive blessing (beyond holiday marketing schemes and new throw pillows) arriving with grace. Designs from Tamsin Saunders (Home and Found) satisfy for now with lived in, undone, classic beauty and timeless character.

Effortless Timeless Rooms by Tamsin Saunders
Just now, let’s luxuriate in exceptional design! One of the aspects of European designs I personally appreciate? Room sizes are indeed sensible. Ceiling heights are typically low or standard. Enjoy the inspiration ahead.
Philosophy Behind the Designs
From the designer’s site (Home and Found), we learn about the studio’s design process.

Intentionally small, Tamsin works on just two or three projects at a time.

This allows the time and space to focus on every aspect of a home’s creation to ensure it feels warm and inviting.

The work is closely tied and connected to nature, honest and emotionally enriching.

Whether it’s a complete refurbishment, reconfiguration of the internal layout…

an overhaul of dated, neglected, or inherited decoration…

or an extension downwards, outwards, or upwards, the homes Tamsin designs feel uniquely personal.

The spaces are gently layered and as if they have been there forever.

Tamsin works on a project from inception to completion.

From the initial walk-through to designing the layout, creation of architectural plans and tender documents…

planning, sourcing and instructing builders, designing and overseeing the production…

and installation of bespoke joinery including kitchens, wardrobes, panelling, cloakrooms and bathrooms.

Tamsin Saunders’ Approach to Interior Design
Tamsin’s training as a painter, love of nature and her interest in craftsmanship and the arts are evident in the homes she creates.

She uses colour, pattern and texture lightly but to great effect.

Vintage furniture is upholstered and combined with original antiques, beautiful textiles and exceptional art add depth and interest.

Such layering transforms not just how each room feels but the house as a whole.

Garden Design
Tamsin’s approach is founded on the core belief that the building, garden, and the surrounding landscape should be regarded as one.

The best homes (those that help us feel our best) are those that feel firmly rooted in the natural world.

She designs, refines, and develops a garden’s layout, planning and planting to establish a gentle constant dialogue between house and home-framing views.

She plans vistas, plants trees, and considers light, colour, shape, and form to create a harmonious whole.

Working with a dedicated team of skilled, independent craftspeople who practice traditional techniques, Tamsin has established a trusted reputation.

Her services are cherished because of her devotion to:

the sensitive restoration, extension and refurbishment of period and listed properties. Isn’t the body of work truly lovely?

Peace to you right where you are.
