Before budding appears, before greener grass emerges with birdsong and blue skies, let’s enjoy a taste now. I’m imagining velvety rose and romantic French blue…nothing jolting me awake or startling my senses. (We have news media for that.) Peek at spring looks and consider a few sweet DIYs and finds to save for future reference.

Pottery Barn Soft Colorful Decor
These inspiring schemes from Pottery Barn feature pretty furniture, accessories, and textiles to discover for your home this spring.
What relief to see these rosy pinks and cheerful blues.
After all, we have been consuming content with muddy colors and moody decor inspiration since August since they continue to trend on Pinterest and FB.
While that flavor of moodiness is relevant, at some point, an itch to lighten up emerges.
I’m ready for fresh flowers on the tabletops and pretty dishes to come out of storage…
Gentle Neutrals, Classic Blue, and Rustic Rosewood
I long to feel more energized after winter’s hibernation, but I’m not yet ready to train for a marathon!
While there isn’t much color in the above decor moment, I am loving the sunny stone and can almost feel a cool breeze.
Time to get exercise from hikes outdoors when the weather is less extreme.
Does springtime last very long in your neck of the woods?
Because I live in a place where April has a tendency to pretend it is February…
until it changes its mind suddenly and behaves like July.
Maybe that is why I sense comfort from gentler colors of spring as we emerge from winter rather than any sort of sudden electric rainbow of new growth.
Are these rosy velvets calling your name?
Just now I am missing the rosy upholstered accent chair we had for years in our living room and wondering why I ever parted with it!
But maybe a pretty velvet pillow (or that print above on the left) will do the trick on a bed or neutral sofa.
While the neutral kitchen above lacks springtime color beyond green, I am drawn to those honey-toned woven Malibu counter stools at the island. I’m going to visit a Pottery Barn store and test them for comfort. Something about them just feels so island-like and tropical.
And my summer soul is always in the mood for tropical!
Spring-Themed Ideas & DIY
1. Little Nests
These look so precious, and you can improvise with the type of candy eggs to top them.
Crescent roll dough works so well for treats that only seem complicated.
2. Eggshell Pastels
Bring life to your spring tablescape with these darling and delicate receptacles.

3. Bunny Beauty
Need a clever bunny eared placesetting idea with a napkin and and egg?
Come to think of it, gentle pastel spring-like colors in Rachel Parcell’s home are just the kind of mood I’m channeling today:

How long has it been since I read a Beatrix Potter book to a little one? Too long!
Cuddle + Kind provides meals to children in need with each sale, and everybunny loves ’em!

Look at the sweet little knit carrots in their pockets!

Because it’s the little things…

Who knew a simple scalloped collar on a bunny could be so irresistible?

Cozy Comfy Sleepwear
Cheery colors are so happy when it’s grey outside. But these are calling my name too…
How cute is the rabbit and carrot print for spring? If you have a pet who feels comforted by a pajama shirt in a spring storm…how about going twinsies?
We all know someone who would go cray cray for peeps kebabs this indulgent.

4. Savory & Sweet Spring Yum
If you’re into more vibrant vibing…how about the delicious color of Maegan Brown’s beautiful snack boards!?!

Find a rainbow of ideas in her book:

Even though I have never found layer cakes to be a cake walk…
I am totally inspired by this rainbow of pastels. Who cares if it ends up lopsided and a big ol’ pastel mess? Are Easter macarons even a thing? They’re too hard to make on a regular basis, but for a special occasion? Just seems like a brilliant pairing.
5. Fairy Sweet Spring DIY
If you have children, grandchildren, or little ones to enjoy, this is a charming craft.
Freehand the fairies or visit the Mer Mag to print out these sketched cuties.

6. Pretty Porch & Front Door Decor
How charming is this curb appeal idea for Easter?

I’m good with the rain when it doesn’t fall and freeze on the roads.
I can imagine hunting for a vintage umbrella to fill with dollar store tulips if your home’s front door has the right look for one of these.
It has been quite some time since I have decorated with a spring wreath. You?
There’s something about bitty blooming baskets that outshine those huge bountiful look like they cost 6-figures arrangements.
7. Tabletop Spring Things
This is so darling. I have also seen cauliflower used as a vase.
Simple but so memorable.

Do you enjoy the same scents as your partner or people who live with you? Because my beloved and I are both cuckoo for COCONUT. Here’s an agreeable clean soy candle for a tabletop that is destined to inspire warm season feels (especially if your spring break will be a chilly staycation!):
Have a fragrance that instantly feels like an island escape? Coconut does it for me!
8. DIY Chinoiserie Eggs
Oh, Yvonne, you do know your way around LOVELY!

9. Lush Gardens for Spring Day Dreaming
