Did your family camp when you were young? We did. A pop up camper was pulled behind a station wagon for trips from Chicagoland to Orlando. So many lingering olfactory memories…the wet canvas of the camper when it rained, awakening to my mom’s bacon and eggs, and fragrant Florida oranges. Yum. Retro Campers & Hippie Chic is a trippy romp for flower children and summer kids of all ages. Nostalgia can be bittersweet, yes? What’s crazy about vintage goods in today’s age is how you can locate almost anything from your past! That favorite Elton tee you wore in 4th grade when that blonde winked at you on the playground? Probably one or two floating around eBay or Poshmark! Leave a comment if any of these moments trigger a sweet memory.

Retro Campers, 70s Quotes & Hippie Chic
Ever vacationed with an Airstream? I haven’t, but what a dream. So many Airstream airbnb possibilities these days.
Where would you take an Airstream if the sky were the limit?
Retro campers and nostalgic wanderlust seems to strike a chord with all of the generations (are you seeing more RVs, campers and gypsy wagons on the road with the improved gas prices?).
While this poetry from Jeff Foster was written recently, it sparkles with a free spirit reminiscent of a different time.

The hippie I gave birth to appreciates all things #camplife and Ram Dass:

Here are a few happy camper finds that caught my eye.

For Bougier Hippies HAPPY GLAMPERS
Sorry not sorry, I like me some wide open roads, but not the sleeping on hard ground part. I incur enough insect bites gardening at home. And quality sleep is always nice on vacation.
Quality sleep? THIS PILLOW is far out. Easily the most scrumptious marshmallow cloud for beauty sleep we have owned. They don’t flatten or die, sleep cool, and were engineered for supreme support of our melons.

Whether you are a survivalist or indoorsy, I hope you can dig these groovy quotes, hippiecats.

Psst. I bought a pair of these gorgeous embroidered pillows for our son, and they are much more of a deep teal bright blue than this photo:

Psst. You’ll see me with a few of my favorites hanging at our childhood camp below. We have known each other and spent time since we were little. We attended family camp, band camp, Bible camp, and all the camps every summer. We lost touch for a few years when raising our young families then reconnected 16 years ago as if no time passed. There is never a dull moment when we gather!

Ever revisited places from your childhood or adolescent summers? They can be triggering. While the old days were not wholly good old days, aging brings perspective. We are allowed to change the narrative. Much of my conditioning and lessons learned in the 70s have been unlearned and released. While women made great strides for equality, there were too many residual messages in girlhood suggesting I shrink, dim my light, and dumb down to be desirable. Lord knows I tried. Turns out they are effective strategies when you’re after love’s imitation. But disastrous if you won’t settle for less than The Real Thing. (And now you’ll wanna smack me if you can’t dislodge the 70s Coke commercial jingle from your noggin.) 🙂

So much retro goodness happening on this board!

Peace to you right where you are.
