Need a bold blue to sample?
1. Sherwin-Williams PURE WHITE
Here’s a white selected for 2022’s Southeastern Showhouse kitchen, and you can see how its coolness interacts with the warmth of wood cabinetry as well as the bold blue cabinetry.

2. Benjamin Moore OYSTERSHELL
When you’re after a quiet, atmospheric beige, how serene is this one from 2021’s showhouse!?!
Neutrals such as this one with its soft green undertones are lovely with natural linen for tone-on-tone cozy.
3. Neutral Paint Color Idea: SW First Star
The newly constructed 8,000-sf showhouse from 2021 located steps from Buckhead’s Chastain Park, has five bedrooms, seven baths, pool, loggia, gardens and a finished basement. Completed by design-build team Benecki, SOURCE, William T. Baker Residential Design and Land Plus, here is the beautiful exterior:
Sherwin-Williams First Star is similar to Oystershell above and was the exterior color chosen for the home’s cornice above.

What’s Next on Our Reno List?
A year ago at this time we were customizing our primary bedroom’s walk-in closet. It turned out so great and was the last project needing our attention. Here it is:
While we don’t have any high-stress renovations on the horizon, we still need to make up our minds about (1) shelves and/or tongue and groove in the kitchen and (2) changes to our unfinished basement.
We would like to add a bath and a bit more finishing so it feels more pleasant for playing pool.
We’re also finishing an outdoor fun project…a French country courtyard secret garden.
While the surrounding hedge was already there, the concrete surface was in pretty rough shape.
Since we love gravel and river rock, we are adding that to clean it all up and bring a serene presence to the space. Speaking of changes and fixes…
When I consider the wise words of BBT above, my husband and our sons spring to mind. I long to love them more purely in this way. To cease the fixing, convincing, controlling, and brainstorming of great ideas that would solve their problems. The thing is, freeing them of my fixes also frees me. And I do love getting free!
Thank you for visiting this blog. What a strange wilderness the internet and social media continue to be. I hold it all rather loosely, knowing the landscape is ever in flux. Helping you choose paint colors is a small thing, yet I hope to continue to provide resources and inspiration just the same.
