When creating a beautiful home, the only signature look she seems to bear in mind is the unique one reflecting the taste, joy, and personalities of her clients. There’s lavish grace, generosity and humility within such a lovely mission. Dallas-based interior designer and MILIEU Editor-at-Large Shannon Bowers weaves natural materials, rich textures, antiques, and unusual finds into timeless designs for living to the full. Let’s be inspired and soothed just now by the fruits of such soulful work.

Timeless Interior Inspiration: Shannon Bowers Designs
Projects With Thoughtful Curation by Shannon Bowers
Though she may not identify with a particular singular look, sometimes I’ll spot clues from a stunning interior which appears to bear her fingerprints. (Is it the delicately natural way the roses rest in a vase? Or is it how often the term “grace” blooms in my consciousness as I behold her timeless work?)
There’s uniqueness to each bespoke project since Bowers and her team won’t duplicate a design.
Such a high order makes it imperative to fully understand the needs, passions, and values of the families who will live in the completed bespoke spaces.
The relationship between designer and client may even become sacred.
What themes and adjectives come to mind as you view the sophisticated timelessness of these moments of beauty?
For me, GRACE flows with an understated elegance…
unexpected pairings…
joyfully unusual color combinations…
sophisticated artistry…
richly layered prints and pattern…
fine craftsmanship…
and of course an exquisite mix of antiques and unusual objects.
While the background of these spaces often remain neutral,
texture surely lives as a bold color.
You also can’t miss a reverence for natural materials (more baskets, s’il vous plait!),
lived-in warmth,
perfectly imperfect patina,
and character swelling from vignettes, moments, and corners so cozy with collected beauty.
All of her rooms seem to welcome others to unwind because of their airy quality and gentle grandeur.
Nothing feels hands-off or too fussy.
In fact, my hands feel invited to touch these surfaces; my senses are calmed by a meditative mood and the mostly hushed color stories.
My nervous system, so prone to frazzle, is called to return to its proper, balanced, contented state.
So many more lovely adjectives come to mind (such as romantic…have I not mentioned the dreamy romance of it all?), and I invite you to visit Shannon Bowers Design to view more goodness and timeless beauty.
Peace to you right where you are.
