Spring will be blooming soon, but right now, where I live, nature still retains a pale, neutral, winter calm look. We’re revisiting a timeless Houston home tour with a lovely pale palette, and you may recognize the stunning 1923 William Ward Watkin stucco manse in Houston’s Broadacres from a Veranda cover a few years back. You may have also seen it at some point on Pinterest since it is legendary. This home appeared on my radar back when its beyond divine guesthouse graced Milieu. It spoiled me forever. I fell hopelessly in love with the architecture by Reagan Andre and interiors by Pamela Pierce (whose work is still a favorite for obvious reasons).

Beautiful Montrose House Exterior
Modern lines and a restrained color palette let you know this will be something out of the ordinary!
And when the entrance is this stunning…
and the landscape design this exquisite…
…hello lovely!
My favorite part of the property is not even the main house! It’s this:
Guest House by Reagan Andre Architecture
Simply my all time favorite architecture and house exterior EVER. I continue to dream of living inside this photo:
And I do believe I would be happy to simply be the groundskeeper or the housesweeper (is that a thing? I simply sweep entry areas daily.), never to be welcomed inside. Admiring the reclaimed materials fashioned into this new masterpiece and feeling the breeze would be quite enough.
On the other side of this entrance?
A lovely pool.
Rear Side of Guest House
Just look at outdoor entertaining area!
Pamela Pierce Designed Kitchen
Timeless design always requires extra thoughtfulness, and you’ll instantly recognize it in this kitchen.
Aren’t the old doors concealing storage incredible?
All of the reclaimed stone gathered from Europe has a presence all its own. Just imagine the stories it could tell!
This dining table reminds me a little of ours (the one in our dining room), and what character it adds!
And those shelves with all of the creamy plaster!
There something irresistible about scrubbed wood and the beauty of age.
Ever lived with a pot rack? I like to hide mine away, but I don’t have a collection this beautiful!
Pamela Pierce Designed Living Room
When Francophiles dream of heaven, it may resemble this:
Isn’t it sumptuous with its paneled walls, herringbone floors, and stone fireplace?
Redecorated Living Room
I love this version too!
And can you even get over the playful scale of objects on the mantel?
Morning Room Designed by Pamela Pierce
I would never tire of being in this room!
Hall & Family Room
There is a soulful, monastic feel here.
Front Door
Staircase in Houston Home by Reagan Andre Architecture
Look at these plaster steps with the refined loveliness of the iron handrail! I could stare all day.

Framed Botanical Art in Hall
Pamela Pierce’s own Houston kitchen also never ceases to satisfy…
Are the stone floors (Chateau Domingue) also breathtaking!?! See this story touring Chateau Domingue’s proprietor Ruth Gay’s stunning home too!
Don’t miss this renovation of a French chateau!
If you are in the mood for more timeless design – make sure you don’t miss THIS!
p.s. Ever imagine the little fairy behind this blog leading a glamorous life resembling images above? Because when I posted this a year ago, the day’s agenda included power-washing the white exterior of a neglected tiny house we had just purchased and schlepping for FB Marketplace scores for the interiors. A year later, here I am painting a console table I may use in the entry of the new house and stalking FB Marketplace again! It is never boring here!
Peace to you right where you are.

Awww, I’m so happy to hear. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to discuss all of the nuances live? What I enjoy most is simply sharing my stream of consciousness thoughts as I experience the designs in a conversational way so it is close in feel to a little chat over coffee or tea. Thanks for reading.
