It’s a busy season, and it is likely you have a mile long list as you attempt to time all the holiday things just right. I’m not sure any shortcuts or surefire ways exist to ensure that everyone around the table feels the love you long to offer, feels the magic you hope to create. We’re human and all fall short. Some family members and loved ones feel safe and secure with tradition and without surprises. Others love the creative energy of the new and come alive in its presence. It is taking a lifetime for me to learn to allow reality to be reality; to accept all of life as a gift. To be thankful IN my circumstances and not FOR them. Wherever this finds you today, I hope the season will bring blessing. Pin these Thanksgiving Table Inspo ideas to save for later or apply a detail or two to your Thanksgiving table or Christmas table this year. Your pinning helps this small business and helps others find inspiration they need.
Pretty Thanksgiving Table Inspo & Simple Centerpieces
This was my silly pear-y happy turkey on my rustic farm table in our former home:
It truly is the simple things…
Even a kid can build it: green apples, red grapes, dried cranberry eyes, cheese beak, pretzel legs, and red pepper wattle.
BTW. Do you even use a formal dining room? In our prior home, it was rarely visited, but in the new house, it’s where my piano is. That means it is used every single day. See this for dining room inspiration.
It is obvious from this parade of inspiration that this fall faerie on the prairie admires the soulful simplicity and humble natural gestures from Leslie of Gwen Moss. Leslie’s style is relaxed, warm, and unfussy in just the right balance so it feels non-contrived and natural.
A Favorite Buy To Use This Holiday
Also weaved into the collection are a few favorite fall and Thanksgiving tabletop items in case you’re poised for Black Friday! Here’s my favorite item to use for the holidays this year:
It is a marble cake pedestal and just the perfect size. I have seen these priced higher at Homegoods and Target, plus they were always chipped or not quite right in color or size.
Since the marble is natural stone, expect variation. Mine is not bright white yet looks perfect on my white quartz counter. The wood base pedestal is lovely enough for everyday use while also the perfect size for serving bite-sized savory appetizers and sweet dessert bites.
The Magic of Turquoise With Cognac
Sometimes it’s the palette that swiftly sets you on your way to a lovely table…
By the way. YOU are truly a blessing to me. You are. There are days I sit here feeling deflated and isolated with my laptop. I remain awed I can enjoy friendship and also make a living thanks to your willingness to consider, browse, read, become inspired, and pin. THANK YOU kindly, lovely ones.
Menu Idea for the Thanksgiving Table
A helpful piece of advice I learned about planning any sort of menu when entertaining is to plan it all out and then scratch one thing off. We all tend to be excessive!
Soft & Gentle Autumnal Color Palettes
Is terracotta on your radar? You see a lot of it everywhere in the 2020s, and it goes by different names including earthy, suntan or dusty rose.
I do love a tone on tone table, but I usually opt for color and a bit of sparkle at Thanksgiving.
But a hushed all white scheme can be beautiful indeed:
Candlelit Magic & Nature’s Beauty
I’m loving the little bits of velvet…maybe keep velvet ribbon in mind for Christmas or Thanksgiving next year.
Sometimes one pattern can inspire your color scheme and set everything else in motion.
This platter has such an Old World feel and doesn’t have the obligatory turkey so it could be brought into service all fall and winter long.
These are nice when you’re a certain age and may forget to snuff out lit candles scattered all over the house!
Roses in a pumpkin? Yes, please. It just never gets old, and the moving parts of a centerpiece like this are easy to find at a local Walmart.
Whimsical Kids Table for Thanksgiving
How fun is this outdoor table for the kids!?! I can imagine any number of variations on those silly turkeys since even cut-outs could do the trick (especially if you customized ’em).
Another idea that springs to mind? Have the kids paint plain ol’ pumpkins in those pretty cheerful hues before the dinner. Then involve them in the making of the tablescape so they feel extra gratified from the final result.

Don’t you love those classic tablescape elements that can be pulled in for every occasion across seasons?

DIY Decor for Thanksgiving
I love that this DIY doesn’t involve messy paint and glue! Instead, it calls for metallic Duck tape and paint pens…woohoo!
Vivid Teal & Turquoise Fall Inspo
Oh, Gwen Moss, how did you know this is precisely how I like my kale?
Neutrals With Greenery
Charming Weathered Wood Box Centerpiece
I just know I have one (or five!) rustic chippy boxes what would be perfect for this!
And if you’re a book lover, how fun is it to incorporate them into a vintage-vibing scheme?
Outdoor Dining Fantasy For Fall
If you have access to such barrels…do it!
Simple Quiet Beauty
I gave all of my etched antique stemware away when we downsized. If you have a collection, I hope you are bringing it out for the holiday tables!
I forget about fresh eucalyptus even though it’s easy to find at the grocery store even where I live!
Romantic Table With Wisteria Canopy
Simple Lovely Fall & Thanksgiving Banner Decor
I love how uber creative maker Gwen Moss added a very humble accent to a fancy gilded mirror in the dining room. There is something magical that happens when the rustic and the refined meet in a moment as genius as this!
I found this larger burlap Blessed banner or bunting which may work for a fireplace…I’m thinking of stretching it across our French/patio doors since we don’t use that entrance to the kitchen…
